A December To Remember

I am not one to say “I feel” very often, I feel things very deeply, I am a passionate person, but to use the words, “I feel” is not something you will hear from me very often. This morning I was praying Psalm 30 and it says, “For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.” When I read that, I started to feel something in the spirit realm. “December is going to be a month to remember”. I can feel it.

Now I realize many people are in the “Christmas spirit”, but I do not enjoy Christmas songs, I do not like singing Christmas carols, I change the channel on the radio frequently now because most stations are belting out songs that I do not enjoy, so I am not in the “Christmas spirit”. I do love egg nog; Christmas lights; opening and giving gifts and my mom’s cranberry bread, so I am not a Scrooge, I just do not get into the “Christmas spirit”. All that to say, I honestly feel in the heart of God like this is going to be a “December to remember”.

We have endured through the night, not always well, not always with the right words, attitudes or even actions, but we made it. We are here right now today and I hear the spirit of God saying, “This will be a December to remember!” I am not sure what that means, I do not have any insight into what is going to happen, but I can feel it, I can sense it, I have an anticipation about something really good manifesting this month. I cannot say anymore, but the “feeling” has me giddy. If you see me smiling more than normal, it is because this is going to be a “December to remember” and I am like I was so many years ago on Christmas morning, wide awake, early in the morning with an anticipation and great expectation.

Psalm 30:5 “For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.” GOOD MORNING MY FRIENDS!!!!!

Voices

Your voice, your words will go places your body may never go. Your words and your voice lives inside of people you do not even know. Books, blogs, coffee talks, long walks, we release words into other people and they carry them into other conversations and to varying destinations. Words are powerful, words are penetrating, words are healing, words are stealing. Words, words, words. We echo what others say because their words are inside of us. We reveal who we listen to by the words that come out of us. We hear words other people say, but some stick and alter our way. Words, oh the power of words.

Praying Psalm 29 today and the theme is the voice of God. Everyone can hear the voice of God. We may not give God credit for what we hear, we may not even realize it is God we are hearing, but His voice is speaking to us all the time. Did you know Yahweh is the only God worshipped on earth who speaks to His people. Buddha does not speak, Mohammad does not speak, Baal does not speak. Only Yahweh, the living God; Yeshua the Messiah who is God; only the Holy Spirit who is God; speaks and His people can hear His voice. Psalm 29:4 “The voice of the LORD is powerful; The voice of the LORD is full of majesty.”

People are running to this voice by the millions; people are running away from this voice by the millions; but they all hear this voice. When we speak the words of God it becomes an echo inside of others who don’t realize they are hearing the voice of God. When we release prophecy from God it activates hope; ignites passion; and waters weary souls. Oh the voice of God is powerful. When we submit to and honor the voice of God it releases blessings money can’t buy, but when we resist the voice of God we enter into troubles we cannot deny.

Many of us are detoxing the voice of people in our life who were or are valuable to us, but have not spoken life into us. As we detox their voice, we will hear more clearly the voice of God, which is a voice of life, a voice of truth, a voice of authority, a voice of freedom. Jesus is no longer on earth but His voice is still speaking to us even today. That relationship is no longer active, but their voice is still effecting you today. Detox the voices of death and embrace the voices of life. There are more for you than against you, can you hear their voices?

Wild Horses

Have you ever wondered why it is so hard to hear the truth? It does not matter our age, our gender, our socio-economic status, our title, our color, people struggle to hear the truth. Not just some people, all people. We do not like the messanger the truth is coming through; we find a reason why their life is worst or no better than ours, so we do not hear the truth they are speaking. What is our aversion to the truth? What is it in us that so easily defends our current reality when someone comes and shares some truth we cannot see in ourselves? We were created to know the truth, to love the truth and to walk in the truth so we can speak the truth, but the one thing we reject more than anything else is the truth.

People will even argue with this post saying this is not true. 🙂 John 8:31-32 “Jesus said to those Jews who believed in Him, when you continue to embrace all that I teach, you prove that you are my true followers. For if you embrace the truth, it will release true freedom into your lives.” (TPT) Our freedom is directly tied to the measure of truth we embrace not who is the President, Prime Minister or King of our country. We have a responsibility to be lovers of the truth. When we love the truth we will receive it whoever it comes through, wherever it comes from and we will adjust our lives to the truth, if we love the truth.

When I first got saved in January 1989, the Holy Spirit spoke two things to me, He said, I love you (John 3:16) and I will never lie to you (Numbers 23:19). Those two pillars have kept me all these years walking, learning, growing, trusting God and never changing my mind about Him. Circustances have not always changed to support the promises I have been given, but I know God loves me and God will never lie to me, so I love God and I love the truth. This is why I am always smiling, searching, listening, praying, loving. I love God and I love the truth.

I have noticed people who struggle, who are crabby, who are mean, who are angry, who are just hard to be around, they do not love truth and so they are bound not free; Critical not joyful; lonely not in community; the answer to be set free is to love the truth because whatever you are believing is not working as you can see. Other people tell us the truth all the time, in subtle and obvious ways; not always packaged well, but it is still the truth and our spouse tells us the truth more often than we can hear. My prayer is that we would not enter the New Year with some physical or financial resolution, but with a resolve to become a lover of the truth, for truth is the only thing that sets us and keeps us free.

Era of Proximity

November 20-30, 2023 was going to be a dream fulfilled as I was given a trip to Israel by my parents. They said, we sense it is time for you to go to Israel and we want to send you. The trip was booked back in the Spring with a runway of many months for my heart to marinate on the idea of walking on the land I read about everyday. I remember telling a friend about this trip and she declared, this trip will be a demarcation in your life that changes everything for you. I knew it was going to be true. When I got the email late October that due to the war in Israel it was not safe for us to go, so the trip was cancelled my heart sank. I knew it was the right decision, but I was really wanting to go on this trip. November 20th arrived, knowing I was supposed to be flying to Israel that day and again my heart was saddened by the reality I was not going. This week was going to to be a demarcation in my life. I was so excited to go, so the disappointment was real.

Little did I know, God was going to change something in my life not in Israel but in my heart. It was a demarcation week of the likes I did not see coming. Those words my friend Marcella Mitchell spoke over me in her kitchen about the trip to Israel are happening, just not in the place I thought it would. The Lord has walked me through a door, not to a nation I long to visit, but through a door in the spirit that is revealing things to me about the power of proximity in a way I have never seen or heard before. We have lived such distant lives from God and from each other, because pain, wounds, hurts, tells us to isolate from each other, but God says it is in community that we heal with one another.

Intimacy in community is the power of proximity that is going to be the mark of this era. The most vulnerable and powerful thing you can say to someone else is I need you in my life. We have experienced so much distance for so many years, but God is walking us through the door of proximity and intimacy for our healing. Isolation and distance does not work, we have tried it, now proximity and intimacy is being released to us and it is going to be the demarcation that changes our lives forever. Welcome to the era of proximity.

Proximity Revolution

We have been in a slow demolition of the doctrines of men that have created distance between God and people and people and people. This slow demolotion has been going on for years, but enough of the faulty, antiquated structure we have found so much “false sense of security” in, is giving way….finally. It is like a veil that has been placed over our eyes so we cannot see the truth that will set not just some free, but all of us free to see.

What God Himself is walking us into is beyond anything we have ever experienced. We were born into a system of religion that has baptized us in methods, opinions of man, clever pithy sayings and ideas, promises that never came true and beliefs that are not biblical. The whitewash is being removed, the reality of falsity is being revealed and it is going to bring a culture shock to the nations of the likes we cannot even understand.

When Israel left Egypt after 430 years, they had only known Egyptian culture. When its all you know, it seems right, until you are brought into another culture of which you have no frame of reference. This is the reality we are about to face. A culture we did not know was available, a truth we did not realize we had not seen or heard. It is going to be an international revolution of the God kind. The echo is going to become a fading sound and the kingdom is going to manifest and march on.

The mark of this revolution will not be war, famine, disease, affliction, persecution or the rapture, it is going to be a revolution of proximity to God and to people. We are being led into a PROXIMITY REVOLUTION. Proximity to each other and to God is going to unlock the power that Jesus walked in. We will see miracles, signs and wonders not from a distance, but up close and personal. The closer we get to each other and to God the more kingdom activity we will see. This proximity revolution will draw people into community in a way we have never seen before. It will not be a program or a method, it will be organic, unique and creative for there will be no two of the same communities. What God is doing is a PROXIMITY REVOLUTION that will alter the culture of nations. Proximity is power!!!!

Survey Says

One thing I enjoy is watching game shows, because I spend so much of my day studying, counseling, praying and serving other people in so many ways, when I sit down to relax I do not want to think. Gameshows therefore, are my go to for relaxation and winding down after a great day. I was watching Family Feud last night, Steve Harvey is so funny, I just love that he is hosting this show, and one of the questions was, what is missing in most people’s lives? The number one answer was love.

When I heard this number one answer to a a survey of 100 people, I was amazed but not surprised that this was their top answer. We cannot love people and be selfish. Cultural independence has created a vacuum of love, for everyone is looking out for themselves, are concerned about themselves, are worried about themselves, so they operate from a deficit rather than abundance. This is one of the main reasons people are lacking love. You can’t genuinely love someone else when you are always thinking about, worried about, focused on yourself.

Love is others focused. Love thinks about others. Love engages authentically with others. Love does not have “me” in mind when in the presence of another. I have a new friend, he has special needs and he can’t communicate what he needs or wants very clearly, but he sure does respond well to love. Love that sees him, hears him and wants to know him. Love that knows he cannot give anything in return other than a look in his eyes that says, “You see me!” Love sees him and he knows it.

The apostle Paul said, “If we have not love, we are nothing” (1 Corinthians 13). We may pray the strongholds down; we may cast the demons out; we may preach the roof off the house; we may have more money than we know what to do with; we may drive a nice car; we may own a big house; we may sell a great product; but if we have not love, we are nothing.

Love is not weak, passive, quiet, soft, mushy, love is strong, steady, selfless. Love is not about me, love is about what others need in that moment. Love is authentic, passionate, observant. Love sees what is in its hand or heart and gives it freely. To some it may not be much, but to the receiver who can feel the love being given, it is life-changing and love has many expressions. We must never go beyond love or we missed the whole point of what we need and what we are called to give.

Love Takes Back Our Children

Every parent loves their child. You cannot carry another human being for 9 months, go through childbirth in whatever way you went through it and not come out on the other side without having a love for that child you cannot express. Love however is the most misunderstood word in the English language.

We quote John 3:16 on placards at baseball and football games. We have bumper stickers on our cars that say, Jesus loves you. We put up signs in our yard that declare love is love. We say how much we love someone, but we don’t really know what love is. Why does this matter, why is this even a blog this morning? The reason is because I saw a family thanksgiving dinner picture by a person I know on Instagram and sitting at the table was a person completely decked out as a skeleton.

Human love says, we just let them express themselves however they want to. We abjecate our authority as mom or dad, grandma or grandpa, sister or brother, friend or family member. We let them live in death and call it love. We have no expectation of them, we have no concern they are literally manifesting death and the Bible says, “A man’s face reflects his heart.” When a teenager is reflecting death, our love for them should kick in and want to see them live. If this person was to die, everyone at that table would be grieving, but there is a person eating with you in skeleton face paint and my heart broke when I saw it.

Friends, love does not give up its authority to please or tolerate people. Love sets boundaries, love speaks life, love sees what is wrong and works on solutions to bring people back to life. We live in a world that does not know what love is. My heart is breaking for this child at that table I have never met. I love someone I may never meet, because real love wants everyone to live; believes everyone is redeemable; is always looking at and listening to people. We need people who know what love is to arise and shine!

Better Than We Think

Grace has expired, the lot has been cast, the lies are exposed, the truth is prevailing. Can you hear it? Can you see it? Can you sense it? There is a tide that has turned, a shift that has happened. Truth and justice; righteousness and humility are the marks that are striking the earth as we speak. Men speak as though they know so much, but yet are continually proven to know so little. Yahweh is God and there is no other.

The days of man’s labels; man’s declarations; man’s ideas; will continue but will wax cold in comparison to the hot truth of God’s decrees. We are going to see, hear and experience healings that man said was impossible. We are going to watch restorations of relationships people said were dead come back to life and it is going to shock the onlookers. What man has said is impossible is about to silenced by the God who does the impossible.

The days of reading your Bible and wishing you lived when Jesus walked the earth, so you could have seen the healings, experienced the coin in the fishes mouth, or had the miraculous prison break are over. The Bible is about to become reality in our day. The lies have been exposed, the truth is marching full speed ahead and we are about to dance in the streets out of sheer joy and celebration of the power of God.

I know it sounds too good to be true, but God is good, all and all the time God is good, at least that is what we sing, but now we are about to see what we sing. Your goodness is running after, running after me, another song we sing, but are about to experience. This is not pie in the sky thinking, this is faith speaking. I have seen it in the spirit, God does not lie, He has said it, He will do it. This is not a get your hopes up so you can be disappointed again, this is truth, this will be reality, because God said it, not man.

We believe psychologists, but we don’t believe God. We trust bankers but we don’t trust Yahweh. We lean on doctors but doubt the Great Physician. Our words, our faith has established a scientific, humanistic reality, but God is about to completely short circuit our operating system and rewire the way we think. We are about to get a neurological upgrade of the likes we can’t even imagine. Culture worldwide is about to shift dramatically as God stamps His creation with His seal!

Thank You!

Friends,

I wanted to stop today and not pen some words of encouragement from the word of God, but type some words of thanks to each and every one of you. Many of you see me at church or on coffee approintments share with me how blessed you are by my daily blog. Other have encouraged me to write a devotional, and I am doing that. Still others send messages, or financially support the ministry God has called me to and I want to say thank you. Thank you for taking time to hear what God says through me, I am humbled that you would look forward to my blog every morning.

It is the end of the year, thanksgiving week is here, and I have a friend from California in town. We have the turkey and ham in the fridge ready for Thursday, we have plans for Thursday night with another family and I am just blessed, blessed, blessed by the people God has put in my life and that includes you. Thank you for your comments of agreement, clarification or even I don’t know that I agree. We are the body of Christ, I am not trying to be right, I am trying to share what God is speaking to me and add value to what He is doing in you. Thank you for letting me speak the word of God to you.

We will not sit at the same table on Thursday, but we will all be giving thanks to the same God. We may not go to the same church on Sunday, but we will all be lifting our hands in praise to the same Savior of the world. We may not cheer for the same football team this weekend, but we will all be celebrating the goodness of God in one way or the other and I am so thankful that we are all alive for such a time as this.

Many might not think anything significant will happen between now and the end of the year, but I am a believer in anything is possible. I just got a text message saying, a member of our church was literally resurrected from the dead at the very moment we prayed for her as a church. People are our treasure. God is our creator, and I see major life altering miracles taking place as we are in the year of the open door, 5784/2024. Thank you for walking with me, doing life with me and listening to God through me, I am honored to be on the same team as you! Happy Thanksgiving friends.

Songs of Deliverance

Thanksgiving week is here in the United States. Families will gather around tables on Thursday with a feast spread out of the likes we do not have any other time of the year. Relatives and friends will bare the travel nightmares and challenges just to be in the same location as people who they love or want to be with for the holiday season. This next 6 weeks will have highs and lows, joys and challenges of the likes that culminate after a long year of much of the same.

History may repeat itself in some families, new memories may be made in others. Traditions will be celebrated and new traditions will be implemented. New members both young and old may join or be missing from the table. I am not sure what your Thanksgiving is going to look like this year, but what I do know is that giving thanks is a daily part of God’s kingdom. We call it a day, Thanksgiving, but the kingdom calls it a culture of thanksgiving.

Some people will find giving thanks easy as they got a new job, a promotion, an engagement, had a baby or started a new relationship. Others will struggle to find something to give thanks for this year as the pain of loss is great, the divorce still hurts, the finances are tight or that child is not at the table for whatever reason. So many feels during these holidays.

One thing the Lord spoke to me this weekend was the words “Songs of Deliverance!” This phrase comes out of Psalm 32 and I believe it is a word for this holiday season.

We all have songs that got us through seasons. When I first got saved it was I Have Decided by Amy Grant, when I was struggling with something serious, the Lord gave me the song by Michael W. Smith, Surrounded as my song of deliverance. The holidays are hard for us in many ways but there is a song of deliverance for this season God wants you to sing. I pray you find your song and sing my friend. For songs say what our hearts cannot find the words for. Happy Thanksgiving Week.
