What Days Are We Living In?

One of the hot topics in the church is that of the end times. We love the idea of the rapture, so we can escape this evil and corrupt world. Others like the idea of being pre-tribulation, so we do not have to go through any pain, when God “judges” the earth. Many believe we are living in the days of Noah, where Jesus says in Matthew 24:37, “As in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the son of Man, for in the days before the flood people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day that Noah entered the ark.” With what is happening in Houston, TX right now with record flooding hitting 52 inches and now with Hurricane Harvey landing in Louisiana for a stay before it considers coming back to Texas, some could say, lift up your eyes to the sky, for your redemption is here, Jesus is about to split the sky and come down in his second coming.

Others believe we are living in Matthew 24 with all the “signs” of the end of the world, but the Bible does not say that they are signs of the end of the world, but the end of the age, the end of an epoch, the end of a set amount of time. The signs are truly there, for the end of the age, but what age is ending and does that mean another age is beginning. I believe it does, I believe the church age has ended and the kingdom age has arrived, but I also believe there is a transition between these two ages, which can mean weeks, months, years. Remember Jesus prophesied the destruction of the temple in 30-33 CE, but it was not destroyed until 70 CE. Therefore, one age can end, the age of the Law and the Prophets, which included the temple and its animal sacrifices ended when Jesus said, repent for the kingdom of heaven is here, but we see a crossover or transition time with the arrival of the tongues of fire at Pentecost and the destruction of the temple.

What days are we living in then? Are these the days of Elijah, when fire came down from heaven and consumed the false idols of Baal and put an end to Ahab and Jezebel? Are we in the days of Ezekiel when dry bones are coming alive and being made into a great army? Are we living in the days of Ninevah, when an eclipse crossed over the land from west to east? Are we in the days of the Judges, when everyone is doing right in their own eyes? Are we in the days of Jesus, when people are leaving the temple to follow Him into the fields, mountains and beaches to hear what He has to say? I think the answer is yes to all of the above. These are days of transition, days of change, days of incredible awe and wonder. These are the days of the Bible!

This change we are in is not like any we have seen in our lifetime, with the darkness (ignorance of people) getting darker and the light (revelations of God) getting brighter, with despair seeming to sink lower and with hope seeming to rise higher. It is amazing to me how people are in distinct and different camps of thought whether they realize it or not. It was as though God drew a line in the sand and people made their choice, now we are seeing who is where. The name Christian is no longer representative of just one kind of people anymore, just like the name thief, when the two guys on the cross meant two different attitudes. One said, I am guilty, Jesus you are innocent, remember me when you come into your kingdom and the other said, if you are the Christ save yourself and us. Same cross, same title (thief), two distinct and different attitudes (Luke 23:39-43).

Now to answer the question, what days are we living in? We are living in days of opportunity like never before, but man-made plans are not going to stand. These days demand we slow down, get silent, and say, speak Lord, for your servant is listening. This is not the time to jockey for position, try to be the loudest, longest or most listened to voice, this is the time to pause, relax, trust, and wait for the call, the command. In days of extreme change, intense transition, it is critical, that we recognize we have hit a speed bump as a nation, as a church, as a globe and it is advantageous for those who know their God and want to do exploits, that they selah until they hear Him speak, then move as He says move, for He is positioning us purposefully for what is upon us. These are the days we are living in.

Favor or 40

Today was a historic event for many in the United States of America, especially since we have not had a coast to coast solar eclipse since 1918. Sun watchers of all ages stepped outside for a minute or many minutes to watch this historic event today and the creator of heaven and earth did not disappoint, it was a sight to behold for sure. From the ground it was amazing, I can only imagine what it looked like from the air. What I saw was extremely impressive, watching light turn to darkness and then go back to light in a matter of moments, was like nothing I have ever experienced before. The sense of God’s presence for me was powerful as well, for I chose to be alone in my backyard, quietly, so I could not only see what God was displaying in the heavens, but I wanted to hear what He was saying. When sight and sound meet, there is an explosion that goes off on the inside that is indescribable.

I don’t need to describe what I saw, for many saw it, but what I heard is what I want to share with you, for it was a validation of what I have been hearing, but it was so clear, so simple, so God that I am in awe. First, I need to let you know, despite the love of the church to make everyone on the same playing field, as though we are all treated equally, God is very clear in His word, that wheat get separated from chaff (Matthew 3:12); 5 virgins get to go in, 5 virgins don’t (Matthew 25); there are the wise and the foolish (Luke 6:46-49), the weak and the strong (Romans 14), the obedient and the disobedient (Deuteronomy 28), the righteous and the wicked (Proverbs 11:23). We are all the human race, but we are not all making the same choices as it pertains to obeying God. I know it rains on the just and the unjust alike (Matthew 5:45), but that does not mean He has the same message to everyone.

As I watched the solar eclipse and listened to the voice of God, this is what I heard, “I hid my face from you for a moment in order for you to see my face in fullness forever.” I knew this was a word for me, the past number of years have been very hard, hard as in walking through the valley of the shadow of death, not because of some sin I committed, but because of the training I was undergoing. So, when He said, He hid his face from me for a moment, I knew this was a word for me and the bride of Christ. Psalm 30:5 says, “For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning.” And Isaiah 54:7-8 says, “For a brief moment I forsook you, but with great compassion I will gather you. In an outburst of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting lovingkindness I will have compassion on you, says the Lord your Redeemer.” If you have sensed you’ve been hidden, I decree to you, your moment is over and your favor is upon you. He is shining His face upon His bride, upon the obedient, upon the wise, upon those who have been seeking His face.

But for those who have been disobedient, who have chosen to live in sin, despite the nudging to return to the Lord. There is a different outcome for you, for God is just and His love, His justice demands sin be disciplined. Hebrews 12:5-6 says, “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor faint when you are reproved by Him; for those whom the Lord loves He disciplines and He scourges every son whom He receives.” For the disobedient, discipline is coming, a season of His face being hidden from you is coming upon you. All the consequences I do not know, but what I do know is that discipline is coming to the disobedient. However, I believe you have 40 days to mend your ways. Remember Jonah gave Ninevah 40 days to repent and they too saw a solar eclipse (Jonah 3). Between now and Yom Kippur is 40 days and I sense this is the final 40 for those who have been living in disobedience to the commands of God. I know you have been told its okay, but it’s not, you must repent, not to escape discipline, but to return to the Lord. God is coming with justice to discipline the disobedient.

Today’s eclipse was a sign in the heavens of the day turning to night and then the night turning to day. For some it is going to be a day of favor, for others a day of discipline, but I believe there are 40 days until the discipline is doled out. For some it is a day of their mourning turning to dancing, for others their dancing is turning to mourning (biblical sign of repentance). The eclipse was a sign of favor or 40, but either way, we are all being treated like sons and daughters by a good good Father, because He is about to turn you around in 40 days, while, remember, for others it took 40 years. His mercy truly does endure forever (Psalm 136).

The Elul and Eclipse Convergence

The solar eclipse is the talk of the town here in the USA and around the world. What does it mean? Is it just a historical event that one must see or is it a prophetic sign proclaiming judgment on the USA for all their sins? Many voices have sought to share what they believe this is all about. To science it is a cosmic phenomenon, to the Jews it is a sign, to businesses it is prosperity, to most, we are not sure, but we bought our glasses anyway. One thing we all can agree on is that this eclipse is something heavenly, that means the author of the heavens knows what it is all about. The thing about God is that He is omniscient, which means He is all knowing. He knew this eclipse was going to happen, for he planned it and I believe He enjoys the fact that we are spending time and money, cancelling school and filling our gas tanks in preparation to look into the sky and see a God show. It is proof that God can draw a crowd larger than any man or woman, God can get us to spend our money on seeing Him and God alone can put on a show that is going to be historic.

Since it is all about God, based on Psalm 19, which says, “The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands,” it would behoove us to take note of His calendar to see what is so significant about the timing of this eclipse. On Monday August 21, 2017 at 7:18pm in Israel, the sun will set, which will begin a brand-new day, the first day of the month named Elul. This time will be 9:18am in Portland, OR which means the solar eclipse will be happening over the USA on the first day of Elul on God’s calendar. What is significant about this is the truth about the month of Elul.

Elul, is the month where the Jews celebrate: THE KING IS IN THE FIELD. The scripture verse connected to this month is Song of Songs 6:2-3 “My beloved has gone down to his garden, To the beds of balsam, To pasture his flock in the gardens And gather lilies.  “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine, He who pastures his flock among the lilies.” This is significant because it means that God has left His palace, to come and walk among His people. Listen to what one rabbi says on Chabad.org “In the field, “he receives them all pleasantly and shows a smiling countenance to all.” In the “field,” G‑d allows His subjects to relate to Him as His presence is manifest.” This is not a coincidence, that this Hebrew month, which is God’s calendar, on the first day, we are having a solar eclipse, where God is going to manifest His presence.

For Elul 1 and the Solar Eclipse to happen on the same day across the USA is a sign that makes us wonder, are we on the verge of an awakening like we have not seen in our lifetime? Is it possible, the Lord is going to reveal His kindness that leads us to repentance (Romans 2:4)? With the king in the field, making Himself so accessible to people in this hour, is it possible, He is not mad at us, but rather He wants to make Himself seen in a parabolic fashion as a sign in the heavens like a crown upon the sun? No matter what you may think this is all about, one thing I know for sure, God is at the center of it all. You can’t make this stuff up, Elul has had the same meaning for year after year. So, while some are anticipating disaster, others are seeing at as science, I am going to be looking up into the sky with my solar eclipse glasses on knowing the king is in the field and I am going to say thank you Lord for being God alone!

The Purge Is For The Surge

Many prophets have been prophesying that God is cleaning house, in the church, in the nations and in our lives. We are seeing ISIS being driven out of their strongholds, we are seeing brick and mortar companies shutting their doors, we are watching churches lose members daily and if you look closely you can see God is wanting to purge our own personal lives as well. The purging is not hard to see. Dictionary.com defines purge as follows:

  1. to rid of whatever is impure or undesirable; cleanse; purify.

2.to rid, clear, or free (usually followed by of or from):

to purge a political party of disloyal members.

3.to clear of imputed guilt or ritual uncleanliness.

4.to clear away or wipe out legally (an offense, accusation, etc.) byatonement or other suitable action.

5.to remove by cleansing or purifying (often followed by away, off, orout).

6.to clear or empty (the bowels) by causing evacuation.

7.to cause evacuation of the bowels of (a person).

A friend of mine asked me to help her purge her house of needless things and little did I know how prophetic this activity was going to be for me. Being able to see this house before and now to see it after is extremely encouraging. Her family feels safer, thinks clearer and is proud of where they live again. They swallowed their pride, asked for help and we purged this house. It was hard at times, because we get attached to things we don’t realize were attached to, we have habits we did not realize we have and when you purge you see how much money you wasted. Purging brings about repentance which leads to life, so even though it was hard for her emotionally and me physically, we made it through this purging and all of us are proud of the final result.

God is purging the United States government, some don’t understand it, don’t like and have many opinions about it, but the purge is for the surge. The Lord is doing the same thing in our churches, He is purging the house of God for we have exchanged training for entertaining, we have exchanged holiness for donut holes and coffee bars. Mark 11:11 says, “Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the temple courts. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.” One-day Jesus entered the temple to look around, I believe we have been in this day for longer than many realize. Jesus has done an inspection of our lives, of His house and of our nation and now we are living in the next day.

The next day, according to Mark 11:15-17 “On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. And as he taught them, he said, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’” I believe we living in the day of the purge, it is not going to be easy, nor is it fun, but it is necessary. If you want to enter the third day, the day of the surge, you must go through the day of the purge. The purge is not punishment, it is promotion, because the purge is for the surge.

Dictionary.com defines surges as follows:

1.a strong, wavelike, forward movement, rush, or sweep

2.a strong, swelling, wavelike volume or body of something

3.a sudden, strong increase or burst

4.Military. a significant increase in the number of troops deployed to anarea.

5.the rolling swell of the sea.

6.the swelling and rolling sea

7.a swelling wave; billow.

The prophets have been telling us a wave is coming, a harvest is coming, an increase is coming, what they have been prophesying is the surge that is coming. However, before the surge, there has to be a purge and that is what we are seeing, the purge, but take heart, rejoice, get ready, because if you are experiencing or experienced the purge, that means God is preparing you for the surge, the purge is for the surge!

Hidden Treasures Being Revealed

Isaiah 45:3 “I will give you the treasures of darkness and riches from secret places, so that you may know that I, Yahweh, the God of Israel call you by your name.”

We are living in a season of hidden treasures being revealed. The Lord is showing His children where to find hidden treasures. Remember Proverbs 25:2 says, “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.” We are kings and priests of our God, He has concealed many things, not to hide them from us, but to hide them for us, but we must seek them out. This is one of the reasons Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you” is so significant for us. Only the seekers will find (Matthew 7:7). Promises and prophetic words are just that promises and prophetic, they are not something always given, many times they must be sought out.

Based on a string of prophetic puzzle pieces, the Lord led me on a prophetic journey to salt the Grand River, here in Missouri. Listening to Brian Simmons preach on a Friday night at Bethel Church in Redding, CA, he spoke prophetically and said, “It is time to dig ditches, for it is going to rain”. Then on Saturday night a friend of mine called me and said, the Lord said to tell you, “Gather vessels and fill them with water!” I went to bed wondering what this meant, so the next morning, I went to 2 Kings 4 to the story of the widow and the gathering of the jars, but the context did not fit my life, so knew that was not what the Lord was saying to me. Next, I went to John 2 where Jesus said, fill the jars with water…now this fit, so I camped here. John 2:1 says, “On the third day (this was key as the Lord has been speaking to me about the third day), in Cana…selah. Cana, this word jumped out to me, what does Cana mean, it means ravine, river, stream, creek. So, I put Brian’s word, dig ditches together with Cana and the Lord said to me, “Ditch Creek.” When in doubt with what God is saying, “Google it!” When I Google’d ditch creek, it led me to a small town in Rolla, MO that has a campground called Ditch Creek which is located on the Grand River and that had a record flooding on August 21, 1915. Another piece of the prophetic puzzle, August 21, 2017 there is a solar eclipse coming over us here in St. Joseph, MO (45 minutes from me) and I have been inquiring of the Lord about the significance of this for us as Americans. Light bulb goes on and I know what to do, because in January 2017 the Lord told me this is the year to salt rivers (2 Kings 2), that I am to salt the Grand River. I look for the mouth of the river and it is located in Keytesville, MO. I Google this town and find out there is a national registry historical building there, so I determine this is where I am to go. So, I plan my trip for Wednesday and on Tuesday morning I received a prophetic word from a friend that said, “I was to not ignore that tiny door, for behind it was grandeur.” When I got the word, I had no idea what the Lord was referencing as I did not see any door, let alone a tiny door. But while in prayer, the Lord revealed to me that this word was confirmation that I was to go salt the Grand river which is located in a very tiny town called Keytesville, MO. If I was not seeking to understand the prophetic words and wasn’t willing to follow the prophetic puzzle pieces, I would have never had the honor of salting that river.

The hidden treasures in that small town were many, but the one that brought me to tears was located at the river we went to salt. We got to the boat launch with the help of some locals and we went and salted the river, decreeing 2 Kings 2:19-22 “Then the men of the city said to Elisha, “Behold now, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad and the land is unfruitful.” He said, “Bring me a new jar, and put salt in it.” So, they brought it to him. He went out to the spring of water and threw salt in it and said, “Thus says the Lord, ‘I have purified these waters; there shall not be from there death or unfruitfulness any longer.’” So, the waters have been purified to this day, according to the word of Elisha which he spoke.” At the bank of the river was a telephone pole with a ruler on it that went to 38ft, but stopped at the number 37. It was a river that flooded often, but I did not know it. Then as we are preparing to leave to head back to Kansas City, I see a historical marker in the parking lot, so I said to my friend, let me check that out before we leave. I get over to this cement plaque and it says, “Trail of Death”, it said right here 800 Potowama Indians died in this river crossing. I wept. The Lord brought me to this tiny town, to salt this Grand River, so I could decree healing to the river that was a valley of dry bones (Ezekiel 37), remember the ruler had 37 as the top number and now I knew why. Hidden treasures being revealed.

That night when we got home, which was last Wednesday, July 26, 2017, Kansas City had massive flooding and a record flood happened at Indian Creek. Another prophetic puzzle piece, as rain means blessing. But one last thing that flood did, it soaked the ground so much that seeds which were lying dormant way below the surface came forth this week, we have a field by my house that usually only grows grass, but right now after that soaking, that flood, it has produced pockets of corn stalks and flowers, this field used to be someone’s harvest, but was sold to developers, but the seeds are still in the ground and it took a flood for them to break forth. There is a flood of God’s glory coming and it is going to reveal hidden treasures in secret places.
