Prophetic words in the New Testament are 1 Corinthians 14 for edification, encouragement and comfort. When God gives you a prophetic word for someone; nation; a region; or a city, it is to encourage them that God is for them and not against them. Prophetic words are to build you up not tear you down. They are to invest faith in you not plant fear in you. God gives us prophetic words to hang on to when things get challenging knowing there is an end to a season and there is a promise that He gives in the beginning, so we persevere with it until we see it fulfilled.
I was out walking the dog this morning, and snow flakes were falling from the sky. I lifted up my face to the flakes and stuck out my tongue to catch some while walking. Looking up, I saw bright blue skies. I have never been on the weather line between snow and blue skies before, so today was a new experience for me. As I was enjoying the snow and seeing the blue, the Holy Spirit said, “Snow is for cleansing so you can walk into the clear blue skies!” Immediately I knew this was a word for us as the church. We have been Isaiah 1:18 forgiven of our sins, they were like scarlet now they are white as snow. Once we are forgiven we walk into clear blue skies. We are not to circle back and live in sin so we can be forgiven so we can sin again. We are to walk into a new clear clean slate.

I believe we are seeing national cleansings around the world and the snow falling is evidence of that. Russia just got 9 feet of snow. The cleansing is because there is bright blue skies in front of us. The cleansing is so we can see clearly the great days in front of us. Jeremiah 29:11 was spoken at the beginning of Babylonian captivity to remind them God knew the plans He had for them to prosper them and to give them a future and a hope. We are at the end of a long season of disappointment but the snow falling on a bright blue sky day is evidence we are walking into a beautiful future.
