When you enter a new room, when you are placed in a new situation, when you are invited to a new table, Jesus says to take the lower seat and let them call you up higher. Do not assume your position at a table, rather sit where you are seated, watch, listen and seek to understand what is being said at the table you have been invited to. There are people sitting at that table that know things you do not know, been places you have not been, seen things you have not seen. Go low and watch God raise you up in due time.
I was invited to sit at a new table yesterday and I watched as one person raised themself up and I watched the leader gently correct them and had them sit back down. I saw a leader leading leaders yesterday and it was fascinating to observe from a seat at a table I had not been to before. Many people are going to be invited to new tables, but even if that table has people you know from a far and now you are up close, remain humble and when the time is right, God will raise up your voice into the ears of those leaders.
When Peter, James and John went up on the Mount of Transfiguration with Jesus one day, the heavens opened and the voice of the Father spoke to them all about Jesus. Peter was so excited about this encounter, he said, “Let us build tabernacles in this location. One for you Jesus, one for you Moses, and one for you Elijah.” What a meeting that would have been, the challenge is the meeting location was not to be a dwelling location, but rather a declaration destination. So Jesus told Peter he did not know what he was talking about, it was not to be a habitation location but a declaration location.
We need to be discerning when we are in meetings, for many people have built dwelling locations that were supposed to be declaration locations. The Father made a declaration about the Son in that location, it was not to be a place of habitation. Today there are buildings on top of the Mount of Transfiguration in Israel, but that mountain was not meant to be a place of habitation, but of declaration. We will do well to know the difference as we are being called into a variety of situations we have never been in before. Yesterday I was in a declaration location and now the decree lives in me.
