What Are You Known For?

What if we were identified as wise or foolish based on whether our words build up or tear down? It sounds so simple, but the kingdom of God is simple, religion is complicated. What if we were called to be content creators not news commentators? Anyone can make statements about a National Cathedral Bishop for her words revealed her heart, but who can read the word of God and share revelation knowledge that strengthens the body of Christ?

Proverbs 24:3-5 this morning inspired me to stay in the lane of wisdom, for I want to be known as a builder not a destroyer, a content creator not a commentator. “Wise people are builders— they build families, businesses, communities. And through intelligence and insight their enterprises are established and endure. Because of their skilled leadership the hearts of people are filled with the treasures of wisdom and the pleasures of spiritual wealth. Wisdom can make anyone into a mighty warrior, and revelation-knowledge increases strength.”

Church, the kingdom of God is known what it is for not what it is against. When you are so for someone or something, it is obvious what you are against. You don’t need to tell people what you are against, for they are so aware of what you are for.

My prayer is that we as the body of Christ would be known for being for righteousness, peace, and joy; for faith, hope and love; for the Father, Son and Holy Spirit; for prosperity of body, soul and spirit. What you are for is energizing, life giving and awe-inspiring. What are you for? What are you building? This is what the world wants to know.
