There are so many things to learn not just from other people, but from all of creation. I have a small dog and we go walking every morning. It is our first order of business. We usually do at least a mile a morning and then other walks during the day.
Yesterday while being in the area across the street from our house, my dog saw the neighbor’s dog, who is a brown boxer and the two of them have had words in the past. My dog is small but he is mighty and when he saw the boxer yesterday afternoon he was showing the boxer he is not intimidated nor scared.
I was smiling watching him, but then when the boxer walked by on his leash, my dog who does not need a leash in our neighborhood, 1)Marked his terroritory and 2)Threw grass with his two back legs toward this boxer. As I was watching this unfold, the Holy Spirit said, that is how you show the enemy you are not scared nor intimidated and how you say, this is my turf, back off!
This whole scene reminded me of what Jesus said to his disciples in Matthew 10:14 where Jesus said, “If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.”
Friends, if my little dachshund is not afraid of a boxer, why are we who have Christ in us, the hope of glory afraid or intimidated by a defeated devil’s voice that is all talk and no action? It is long past time that we mark our territory, shake the dust off our feet and get on with our day or enjoying a walk with our Father God and His son Jesus.
