At the very core of who God is resonates through everything He does and says. If we do not have the core of God’s nature correct, everything we hear God say and see God do will be distorted.
What do you think the core of God’s nature is? We may speak of the fruit of His nature and call it His nature. We may speak to the evidence of His nature. We may even speak of our experiences with His nature. Yet, at the very center of who God is we must understand, or we will distort, confuse and communicate things that are not true about God, all because we got the core wrong.
The Lord spoke to me this morning and said, “The core of my nature is relational not results.” He went on to explain, “I do everything from my relational nature, but the world’s system does everything from the core of results not relationship.” As I continued to listen, the Lord continued and said, “The tree of the knowledge of good and evil is a results tree and the tree of life is a relational tree. The tree you eat from is the tree you believe is the core of Me.”
Pondering what I heard this morning, opened up my understanding and revealed the subtle deception we have believed that God is mostly concerned with our results. The truth is, God wants a relationship with us, but we are so accustomed to results, we don’t know how to do relationship with God or each other.
If we step back for a minute and think about this truth about God’s core, I think we will find it more true than we ever realized, I know I did. When your core is relational you want to reconcile not remain divided; you want to connect not separate; you want to forgive not harbor bitterness; you want to put others first not jockey for position; you want to linger not rush; you want Him not a title, platform, or following.
There is so much more to this truth, but for now, may we stop and consider the question, am I results or relationship at my core? The truth will set you free. Www.apostolicresourcecenter.org
