“PREFERENTIAL PROXIMITY”
The Lord said to me, “I love everyone the same, I have no favorites, but they don’t all love Me the same way. I give them PREFERENTIAL PROXIMITY. They get to choose how close or distant they want to be from Me.”
We can see varying degrees of relationship between people and God. These varying degrees are by their choice. Hebrews 10:20 says, “Jesus has opened a new way for us to come near to God. That way gives us life with God. It leads us through the curtain into God’s Most Holy Place. Jesus opened that curtain for us when he offered his own body to God as a sacrifice.” Access has been granted to everyone, no exceptions.
We choose our measure of occupation of the unlimited access we have been granted. The Lord has given us PREFERENTIAL PROXIMITY, we get to choose our measure of relationship with the Lord. No one hinders us from accessing Him and no one accelerates our access to Him. We are responsible for our relationship with the Lord.
John 15:9-10 says, “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.” The choice to remain is yours, it is mine, it was Jesus’. Jesus was not granted any more proximity to God than we are, He just prioritized proximity with His Father over anything else.
People limit our proximity to them, but God does not. We have unlimited access, but we also have PREFERENTIAL PROXIMITY. If you see someone with a closer relationship to the Lord than you have, don’t be jealous of them, join them and seek His face, pursue His presence, prioritize His word. David said it best in Psalm 27:8 “My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek.” Www.apostolicresourcecenter.org
