Survey Says

One thing I enjoy is watching game shows, because I spend so much of my day studying, counseling, praying and serving other people in so many ways, when I sit down to relax I do not want to think. Gameshows therefore, are my go to for relaxation and winding down after a great day. I was watching Family Feud last night, Steve Harvey is so funny, I just love that he is hosting this show, and one of the questions was, what is missing in most people’s lives? The number one answer was love.

When I heard this number one answer to a a survey of 100 people, I was amazed but not surprised that this was their top answer. We cannot love people and be selfish. Cultural independence has created a vacuum of love, for everyone is looking out for themselves, are concerned about themselves, are worried about themselves, so they operate from a deficit rather than abundance. This is one of the main reasons people are lacking love. You can’t genuinely love someone else when you are always thinking about, worried about, focused on yourself.

Love is others focused. Love thinks about others. Love engages authentically with others. Love does not have “me” in mind when in the presence of another. I have a new friend, he has special needs and he can’t communicate what he needs or wants very clearly, but he sure does respond well to love. Love that sees him, hears him and wants to know him. Love that knows he cannot give anything in return other than a look in his eyes that says, “You see me!” Love sees him and he knows it.

The apostle Paul said, “If we have not love, we are nothing” (1 Corinthians 13). We may pray the strongholds down; we may cast the demons out; we may preach the roof off the house; we may have more money than we know what to do with; we may drive a nice car; we may own a big house; we may sell a great product; but if we have not love, we are nothing.

Love is not weak, passive, quiet, soft, mushy, love is strong, steady, selfless. Love is not about me, love is about what others need in that moment. Love is authentic, passionate, observant. Love sees what is in its hand or heart and gives it freely. To some it may not be much, but to the receiver who can feel the love being given, it is life-changing and love has many expressions. We must never go beyond love or we missed the whole point of what we need and what we are called to give.

Love Takes Back Our Children

Every parent loves their child. You cannot carry another human being for 9 months, go through childbirth in whatever way you went through it and not come out on the other side without having a love for that child you cannot express. Love however is the most misunderstood word in the English language.

We quote John 3:16 on placards at baseball and football games. We have bumper stickers on our cars that say, Jesus loves you. We put up signs in our yard that declare love is love. We say how much we love someone, but we don’t really know what love is. Why does this matter, why is this even a blog this morning? The reason is because I saw a family thanksgiving dinner picture by a person I know on Instagram and sitting at the table was a person completely decked out as a skeleton.

Human love says, we just let them express themselves however they want to. We abjecate our authority as mom or dad, grandma or grandpa, sister or brother, friend or family member. We let them live in death and call it love. We have no expectation of them, we have no concern they are literally manifesting death and the Bible says, “A man’s face reflects his heart.” When a teenager is reflecting death, our love for them should kick in and want to see them live. If this person was to die, everyone at that table would be grieving, but there is a person eating with you in skeleton face paint and my heart broke when I saw it.

Friends, love does not give up its authority to please or tolerate people. Love sets boundaries, love speaks life, love sees what is wrong and works on solutions to bring people back to life. We live in a world that does not know what love is. My heart is breaking for this child at that table I have never met. I love someone I may never meet, because real love wants everyone to live; believes everyone is redeemable; is always looking at and listening to people. We need people who know what love is to arise and shine!

Better Than We Think

Grace has expired, the lot has been cast, the lies are exposed, the truth is prevailing. Can you hear it? Can you see it? Can you sense it? There is a tide that has turned, a shift that has happened. Truth and justice; righteousness and humility are the marks that are striking the earth as we speak. Men speak as though they know so much, but yet are continually proven to know so little. Yahweh is God and there is no other.

The days of man’s labels; man’s declarations; man’s ideas; will continue but will wax cold in comparison to the hot truth of God’s decrees. We are going to see, hear and experience healings that man said was impossible. We are going to watch restorations of relationships people said were dead come back to life and it is going to shock the onlookers. What man has said is impossible is about to silenced by the God who does the impossible.

The days of reading your Bible and wishing you lived when Jesus walked the earth, so you could have seen the healings, experienced the coin in the fishes mouth, or had the miraculous prison break are over. The Bible is about to become reality in our day. The lies have been exposed, the truth is marching full speed ahead and we are about to dance in the streets out of sheer joy and celebration of the power of God.

I know it sounds too good to be true, but God is good, all and all the time God is good, at least that is what we sing, but now we are about to see what we sing. Your goodness is running after, running after me, another song we sing, but are about to experience. This is not pie in the sky thinking, this is faith speaking. I have seen it in the spirit, God does not lie, He has said it, He will do it. This is not a get your hopes up so you can be disappointed again, this is truth, this will be reality, because God said it, not man.

We believe psychologists, but we don’t believe God. We trust bankers but we don’t trust Yahweh. We lean on doctors but doubt the Great Physician. Our words, our faith has established a scientific, humanistic reality, but God is about to completely short circuit our operating system and rewire the way we think. We are about to get a neurological upgrade of the likes we can’t even imagine. Culture worldwide is about to shift dramatically as God stamps His creation with His seal!

Thank You!

Friends,

I wanted to stop today and not pen some words of encouragement from the word of God, but type some words of thanks to each and every one of you. Many of you see me at church or on coffee approintments share with me how blessed you are by my daily blog. Other have encouraged me to write a devotional, and I am doing that. Still others send messages, or financially support the ministry God has called me to and I want to say thank you. Thank you for taking time to hear what God says through me, I am humbled that you would look forward to my blog every morning.

It is the end of the year, thanksgiving week is here, and I have a friend from California in town. We have the turkey and ham in the fridge ready for Thursday, we have plans for Thursday night with another family and I am just blessed, blessed, blessed by the people God has put in my life and that includes you. Thank you for your comments of agreement, clarification or even I don’t know that I agree. We are the body of Christ, I am not trying to be right, I am trying to share what God is speaking to me and add value to what He is doing in you. Thank you for letting me speak the word of God to you.

We will not sit at the same table on Thursday, but we will all be giving thanks to the same God. We may not go to the same church on Sunday, but we will all be lifting our hands in praise to the same Savior of the world. We may not cheer for the same football team this weekend, but we will all be celebrating the goodness of God in one way or the other and I am so thankful that we are all alive for such a time as this.

Many might not think anything significant will happen between now and the end of the year, but I am a believer in anything is possible. I just got a text message saying, a member of our church was literally resurrected from the dead at the very moment we prayed for her as a church. People are our treasure. God is our creator, and I see major life altering miracles taking place as we are in the year of the open door, 5784/2024. Thank you for walking with me, doing life with me and listening to God through me, I am honored to be on the same team as you! Happy Thanksgiving friends.

Songs of Deliverance

Thanksgiving week is here in the United States. Families will gather around tables on Thursday with a feast spread out of the likes we do not have any other time of the year. Relatives and friends will bare the travel nightmares and challenges just to be in the same location as people who they love or want to be with for the holiday season. This next 6 weeks will have highs and lows, joys and challenges of the likes that culminate after a long year of much of the same.

History may repeat itself in some families, new memories may be made in others. Traditions will be celebrated and new traditions will be implemented. New members both young and old may join or be missing from the table. I am not sure what your Thanksgiving is going to look like this year, but what I do know is that giving thanks is a daily part of God’s kingdom. We call it a day, Thanksgiving, but the kingdom calls it a culture of thanksgiving.

Some people will find giving thanks easy as they got a new job, a promotion, an engagement, had a baby or started a new relationship. Others will struggle to find something to give thanks for this year as the pain of loss is great, the divorce still hurts, the finances are tight or that child is not at the table for whatever reason. So many feels during these holidays.

One thing the Lord spoke to me this weekend was the words “Songs of Deliverance!” This phrase comes out of Psalm 32 and I believe it is a word for this holiday season.

We all have songs that got us through seasons. When I first got saved it was I Have Decided by Amy Grant, when I was struggling with something serious, the Lord gave me the song by Michael W. Smith, Surrounded as my song of deliverance. The holidays are hard for us in many ways but there is a song of deliverance for this season God wants you to sing. I pray you find your song and sing my friend. For songs say what our hearts cannot find the words for. Happy Thanksgiving Week.

God’s Tool Kit

We are designed for maximum effectiveness! God made us of the highest quality material in the earth realm and He placed in us the very image of God; then deposited in us His very own Holy Spirit. We are a true treasure, a valuable creation, and a powerful manifestation of God on earth. If we truly understood who we were created, designed and equippped to be, we would be overwhelmed by the sheer magnitifude of excellence He placed inside each one of us. We were truly fashioned for significant impact.

This excellence with which we were created is exactly why we are a target of the enemy, who hates all things beautiful, despises excellence, does not agree with obedience or submission and will do whatever it takes to disfigure the image of God on earth in you. Is it any wonder he attacks you, wounds you, then mocks you. The devil is a ruthless foe, but we have the ability to overcome him.

The challenge is, we are not convinced God is for us. We are not prepared to be as loved as God wants to love us. We have been programmed to operate out of self-sufficiency; self-protection; and self-preservation; but we were designed for dependency on God and others. We were created to trust, but the enemy has perverted our design.

Our God is a Redeemer, Restorer, Deliverer, Liberator, He is on a rescue mission not just to forgive us of our sins, but to restore us to factory settings, to restore original design. However, He needs us to partner with Him in this process.

One of the tools He uses to bring us back to original design is the bit and bridle with the intent of getting us to be led by His voice. “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. Do not be like the horse or like the mule, Which have no understanding, Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, Else they will not come near you.”

God has such a purpose for each life, He has a desire for everyone’s existence and so many are about to receive a bit and bridle, in order to restore them to original design. Others are having their bit and bridle removed for they are now led by His eye. No matter where you are in the process of restoration, God is bringing us back to original design for maximum effectiveness.

Humility Not Heirarchy

Here we are dipped in hierarchy but called to humility; steeped in sickness yet promised healing; locked up in addiction and yet declared set free. When reality does not match the promise, it can be challenging. The questions of what have I done to deserve this arise with a vengeance in our minds. The enemy mocks us saying, God doesn’t heal today; addictions are permanent; captivity is the final destination. Liar, the devil is a liar.

Friends, humility is the answer to our frustrations. Humility is not self-abasement; it is the ability to acknowledge I know a lot less than I care to admit. Pride is thinking we know so much, when we really know so little. Religion wants us to name it and claim it; prophesy it; declare it; and make it look and sound like we are operating in power and authority.

2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If MY people, who are called by MY name will humble themselves, seek my face and pray…” This is our calling, if we are His people, called by His name. Our first call is to humble ourselves. Humility is the ability to remain teachable in everything. There is always someone in the room that knows something you don’t, but you must be humble to realize this.

We are so dipped in heirarchy, we struggle with humility. Heirarchy is the need to put yourself above someone else, so you are the expert on a subject, but the challenge with heirarchy is in the kingdom love is the highest value and people who think they know so much actually lack love. Humility is manifested in our love, that people can see, hear, feel coming from us. We can know all the right answers, say all the right things, but if we have not love, we are not operating in humility.

We need to deconstruct heirarchy and the need to be right and put on love, for love is living for someone else, listening to others, serving people, love is not about me, it is about you. Jesus loved His Father so He obeyed Him all the way to and through the cross until He was seated right next to Him. What we need is love not to be right. Humility is loving and heirarchy is hindering us more than we realize, humble yourself, it will make you a lover of God and a lover of people.

Original Design

Ponder some thoughts with me this morning. I know you just woke up, I know it is early and you have a list of things to do today, but take a moment and consider something the Lord just showed me.

Our frustration with people is not because we hate people, but because we have such a deep love for people. Our love for them sees in them things they cannot see in themselves and we want them to know who they really are, but when they don’t see it we get frustrated. Want to know a secret, they get frustrated with you for the same reasons.

The Lord gave me a chiropractic adjustment in the spirit yesterday morning and it lifted burdens off of me yesterday and unlocked revelation in me today. I was praying for four people and as I began to pray for them, the Lord began to speak to me about them. Listen to what the Lord said.

“There has been a deviation of original design, but I am the God who brings about the restoration of their original creation.” The Holy Spirit went on to say, “Remove deviation from them in prayer and restore to them original creation.” Restoration trumps deviation; creation trumps devastation. Everyone is redeemable.

Here are the four deviations that God is going to restore to original creation. One is those who are addicted to alcohol. The deviation is they are filled with wine and spirits, but the Lord says I created them to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Two, the deviation is sexual perversion, adultery specifically, but their original design was to be a covenant keeper, a defender of covenants. Three, the deviation is love of money, but their original creation was to be a lover of God. Fourth, the deviation is extreme selfishness, but original design was to be servant of all.

The Lord showed me the deviation and then the original creation. When we see a deviation in someone, we are seeing the counterfeit of original design. Rebuke, bind, cast out the deviation from them in prayer and plant, loose, decree into them their original design. God is about to restore people to their original design and it will be shocking to those who saw them spend so many years in deviation. Remember what happened when Saul became Paul.

Cracking Open The Crust

Good morning church, yes we are temple the Holy Spirit, so we are the church. Church is not a Sunday morning event, it is a not a brick and mortar structure, it is you and I doing life together in the spirit and the natural. We are the church. So let me say it again, good morning church!!!!

I wanted to share with you something that I experienced this week during a time of corporate worship with my Hope UC Nashville community. Four of my favorite worship leaders were all leading together and each of them built one upon another to lead us a community into the presence of God. They worked as one unit, four voices and it was powerful. Anyone who was in the room would tell you it was like swimming in a jar of honey it was so good.

During this time together corporately, the Lord bent me over at the waist and my hands clung together and immediately I knew I had a jackhammer in my hand. I was praying in tongues with such strength I knew the Lord was breaking through something. As I continued to pray in the spirit, I continued to see this jackhammer drilling down.

I can still hear the sound of the jackhammer in the spirit even now, the Lord was drilling into what I saw as the crust of the earth. It was like an outer hard shell and he was drilling down into it. I saw the blade of the jackhammer penetrating slowing but consistently into the earth’s crust. The Lord showed me He is cracking open the crust of the earth and when it opens we are going to see and hear things we have never seen or heard before.

It can feel like what have done wrong that I can’t get a breakthrough; it can seem like this is taking so long, what is the hold up; we can self-examine ourselves into performing, rather than resting in obedience. What I saw and what the Lord is showing me is that this is not about me as an individual, but we as the nations. The Lord is cracking open, drilling down into the crust of the earth for a worldwide, international, all nations move of God.

Time is not our enemy it is our ally and what God is doing in our time on earth is a privilege of the likes we do not yet realize, but once it is acutalized, we will be praising in a way we did not know we could praise Him. Our shout will shake hell as our praise exalts the Lord God Most High who is faithful, who keeps His promises and who loves us more than we know. The jackhammer is drilling down to crack this thing wide open!

Kislev Speaks Prophetically

Have you heard the amplified voices declaring a shaking is coming? Have you wondered, when is it coming? Have you asked, what will it look like? Have you pondered how will it effect us? It is so easy to say a shaking is coming, not realizing all the questions people are asking about what is being said.

Voices that speak for God assume everyone understands our language, not realizing how many people smile and nod, read and scroll on to the next message on their feed. We as the church hear so much and see so little, we say amen, but don’t really let what was said sink deep inside of us.

Today is the first day of the Hebrew month called Kislev. There are many different calendars in the world, we have the Gregorian calendar, which is the one we use; there is the Mayan calendar; and the Hebrew calendar. The Hebrew calendar is the calendar spoken of in the Bible. Kislev is the 9th month after Passover. So, today on the Hebrew calendar is the first of Kislev.

I have not really dove deep into the Hebrew months, what they mean and how they are prophetically aligned with what God is doing on the earth. I listen to others, but I have not dug in myself. Well, today the Lord highlighted to me the month of Kislev and how today is the first day of this new month.

Haggai 2 says, “Consider now from this day forward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the day that the foundation of the LORD’S temple was laid—consider it: Is the seed still in the barn? As yet the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not yielded fruit. But from this day I will bless you.’ ”

The Lord said to me, “Seeds have been sown, trees have been planted, but it has not yet rained, so no fruit has come forth. Until now. Consider, watch, for it is about to rain and I am going to bless my sowers who have sown but not seen a harvest yet. Yes this month of Kislev from the 24th day on, I will bless you.”

I am not one who makes stuff up just to tickle your ears or feed you candy prophesy. My friends, its about to rain and all those seeds in the ground are about to produce fruit. If you can’t believe, just consider, just watch, for many of you, you are not going to believe your eyes.

Haggai 2 speaks of the shaking and the blessing. This tells me, in this 9th month, this month of Kislev, this month of Hanukkah, it is going to rain and we are going to see miracles of the likes that will blow our minds. Just watch, just consider, for this is the Lord’s idea not mans.
