Did you know you are living in the days of the rebuilding of a nation? Do you realize, God chose you to be born for such a time as this in history, so you could witness biblical truth coming alive right before your eyes? Can you recognize the significance of the days in which we are living or has the enemy convinced you, there is nothing to see here? Many people miss the day of their visitation not because they do not want God to visit them, but because they don’t know what to look for, who to listen to, or what to believe. The enemy makes it so noisy that the manifestation of the visitation is unidentifiable to most people.
In the days of Jesus coming to the earth, some stargazers, who historians believe were descendants of Daniel or one of his prophetic schools, were out in the field watching the stars and one star looked out different than all the others. After some research they discovered, this star was an announcement about the birth of Jesus the Christ, the Messiah, who had been prophesied for centuries would come into the world. They were alive during the days of that star! These men, dropped everything they were doing and followed the star, knowing they were born for this moment in history. How do we know all of this, because their journey is recorded in Matthew 2.
What was so challenging for the leaders of Israel, especially the religious leaders of that time is that the star was revealed to some men in a field stargazing, rather than to the titled religious men of the day. To add insult to injury, Jesus revealed Himself to fishermen, tax collectors, prostitutes and nobodies, not to the religious elite. Was Jesus, is God anti-church, anti-temple, anti-synagogue, absolutely not, but to see God and recognize God activity, you have to know the nature of God. Remember, God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (John 3:16). God’s nature does not change, but to many His ways are a mystery.
The mystery of God is hard for many people to understand, mainly because they are expecting Him to come in a church setting where “revival” breaks out, they are not expecting Him to come through anywhere else, and if He does, we miss our time of visitation. Not because God has changed, but because we are so narrow in our understanding of God, His nature and His ways. God brought deliverance to a whole nation through Moses and Moses was not a “five-fold ministry leader”; He brought deliverance to the Jews through a woman who became queen (Esther) by sleeping with the king, not exactly what we would call proper credentials for a move of God.
We will do well to know Isaiah 55:9-11 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth and making it bear and sprout, and furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; so will My word which goes forth from My mouth; it will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.”
Now for you that can handle some mystery and like decoding stories to find the principles, truth and ways of God in them, I see a blueprint in the book of Ezra for the days in which we live right now. The book of Ezra is ten chapters and I have made them into ten steps which I believe may unlock the reality of what is going on in day with the seeming disappointment many are sensing in the atmosphere of the nations. Here are the ten steps…
Ezra 1 – First group of exiles return to Jerusalem from Babylon per the decree of Cyrus.
Ezra 2 – The remnant of exiles gather in Jerusalem with the remnant that was still there.
Ezra 3 – The foundation of the nation is re-laid.
Ezra 4 – Enemies arise and accuse causing a ceasing of the rebuilding of the nation
Ezra 5 – Two prophets (Haggai and Zechariah) reactivate the rebuilding of the nation
Ezra 6 – A memorandum is found, confirms the call to rebuild; paid for by the royal treasury.
Ezra 7 – Transference of Wealth from Babylon to Jerusalem
Ezra 8 – Another group of exiles journey from Babylon to Jerusalem
Ezra 9 – The intermingling of Israel with Babylon is exposed, guilty as charged.
Ezra 10 – The exiles gather to repent, cut a new covenant with God and separate themselves
If this blueprint of how God rebuilt Israel as a nation is any indication of what He is doing with the nations today, we are currently in Ezra 4 and the we need to pray for the mouthpieces of God to have their voices amplified so we can hear the words of Zechariah 4:6-10 “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel (governor of Israel) saying, Not by power, nor by might, but by My Spirit says the Lord of hosts. What are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain; and he will bring forth the capstone with shouts of grace, grace to it! The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house and his hands will finish it. Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you. For who has despised the day of small things? But these seven will be glad when they see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel-these are the eyes of the Lord which range to and fro throughout the earth.”
Its been 150 years in captivity for America, but we are coming out and the best is yet to come!
