Don’t Flinch

The word of God is like being on a scavenger hunt. The more you read it, the more you find that you did not know. Then if you pray the word of God, there are things the Holy Spirit will teach you, the black ink on white pages cannot speak, but the Holy Spirit can. There is a such a wealth of wisdom, truth, power, authority, grace, revelation and mystery in the word of God. No wonder the enemy keeps us so busy we do not have “time” to read the word. Oh friends, there is so much to learn, so much to hear, so much to discover in the word of God. Read it, pray it, sing it, you will find treasures in it you did not know were there.

I was praying Psalm 66 this morning and when I prayed verse 3, the Holy Spirit began to share something with me that we need to here. Listen to verse 3 “Say to God, How awesome are Your works! Through the greatness of Your power Your enemies shall submit themselves to You.” Now listen to what the Holy Spirit said, “When the enemy flexes, My people flinch, but the enemy has no strength, so My people have no need to flinch.” I was astounded, for the truth in this statement is so true. The enemy flexes against us all the time and if we were honest, we flinch a lot, not realizing the enemy has no strength.

The Holy Spirit said, “This is exactly what happened in 1 Samuel 17 when Goliath was taunting and ridiculing the armies of the living God. Goliath spoke and Israel flinched.” I just shook my head and said, you are absolutely correct, but then the Holy Spirit said, “When David came to the battle field, he did not flinch at the enemies flexing and the armies of Israel pursued their enemies and over took them.” The Holy Spirit concluded, “I have a David coming onto the battlefield and My people will not longer flinch when the enemy flexes.” Oh if you could have heard me shout! Church, God is about to reveal a David in our midst and we will no longer flinch, even though the enemy may flex, we are about to pursue, overtake and recover all!

Lean In To Understand

The veil is very thin between heaven and earth. The transformation of the ages is taking place and what felt like it was taking forever is now got the foot on the accelerator. The ground beneath our feet is beginning to move seismically and the air above our head is riddled with winds of change of the likes many do not even recognize. We have lived on crumbs for so long, we cannot see the distribution center that has been built for God’s children to eat and to distribute bread to the nations. Jesus took 5 loaves and 2 small fish and fed the 5,000, but He also had the disciples pick up the leftovers, 12 baskets full. There was more left over than there was to begin with in the 5 loaves and 2 small fish.

In this time of accelerated change that is just beginning to pick up speed, the days of delay are over, we are full on into what God is doing, we must guard against assumptions and lean into understanding. If you don’t understand what is happening, don’t assume, seek to understand. We have never gone this way before, none of us, we are all needing to lean into understand. Proverbs 3 says, “Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding; For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, And her gain than fine gold. … She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, And happy are all who retain her.”

Changes are going to happen so fast that you will not be able to figure it all out. Trust will be paramount in this time of acceleration. Trust those who know things you don’t know, resistance will prove problematic and assumption will make you sound foolish. Lean in to understand, listen to comprehend, watch to observe. Hold your tongue from speaking out of past realities, everything is changing. We are entering into something of the likes we have never experienced before. “Look among the nations and watch— Be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days Which you would not believe, though it were told you.” (Habakkuk 1:5).

Beautifying The Bride

The Bride of Christ is about to undergo beauty treatments of the likes of Esther before she was presented to the king. These beauty treatments are going to beautify the bride of Christ so she can be presented to the harvest that God is bringing in to His body. Esther 2:12 says, “Each young woman’s turn came to go in to King Ahasuerus after she had completed twelve months’ preparation, according to the regulations for the women, for thus were the days of their preparation apportioned: six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with perfumes and preparations for beautifying women.” I see a year of beauty treatments coming to the bride of Christ.

Living under Babylonian rule for so many years has actually marred the image of Christ in His bride. She has had to survive the attacks of the enemy, endure the lies, persevere in the pain and toil in the hot sun. It has not been easy nor fun for the bride of Christ. Babylon has been brutal, but the Lord is about to beautify her again. I see a year of God binding up the wounds of His bride; healing her body; restoring her soul; removing her shame; and prospering her finanances. The glory of God is going to first touch the bride of Christ to make her beautiful.

The bride of Christ has been taught healing, signs, wonders and miracles are for evangelistic reasons, but the Lord says, “Healing is the children’s bread (Matthew 15:26)”. God is about to feed the bride of Christ healing for we are His children and He is our Father. The bride has been afraid to prosper, so a poverty mindset has set in, but God is about to abundantly provide, for He is our Father and His kingdom has more than enough, this too will beautify the bride of Christ for she will not toil or labor, but create with God, dream, design, and distribute so no one is lacking anything in our family. I see it so clearly, the glory of God is going to beautify the bride, watch, this is what God is about to do, for the bride is coming out of Babylon.

Wisdom Will Lead

For the past couple days the Lord has been speaking to me about wisdom. He has been sharing with me how wisdom is about to be put on display for a generation to see. The Bible has the blueprint for ever move God has ever done and will do. We do not need to try and figure it, be the first to name it, or even be the leading voice in it. When Lonnie Frisbee was preaching on the beaches of California he did not know what a legacy he would leave, he was preaching out of his love for God and love for people. Moves of God are powerful, palatable and unexplainable at the time.

We live in what I call a recycled generation. There is recycled fashion trends, recycled ministry models, recycled church plants all just like what we’ve seen before but nothing new, nothing fresh. Yes it feels new to the ones who didn’t already live through it, but I believe our God is still Creator and has a creative idea for this generation. Something that will mark us with a legacy like Smith Wigglesworth has or Ruth Heflin carries. This is why I see wisdom leading the way in this move of God. We have a generation that has seen and heard the charlottes of ministry in their polished performances, but no power; their tricky offering speeches but little generosity; their poor members but rich leaders. Trust me they have observed more than most realize and they want something real, a real God and real relationships with real answers to real questions.

Wisdom is not flashy; wisdom is not professional; wisdom cannot be bought; wisdom comes from God alone. Proverbs 1 says wisdom is “Written down so we’ll know how to live well and right, to understand what life means and where it’s going; A manual for living, for learning what’s right and just and fair; To teach the inexperienced the ropes and give our young people a grasp on reality.” This generation has a ton of information but no wisdom, but God is about to put wisdom on display so a generation can be discipled. How do I know? Because they are already taking the first step. “Start with GOD—the first step in learning is bowing down to GOD;” (Proverbs 1:7). 19 college campuses and growing in what? Worship, bowing down to God.
