The battle many are feeling is not external it is internal. The internal battle is over whose child you are. It is the same battle that the Jews who came out from under the law and into the liberty of Christ faced. They made it out from under the law, but staying out from under the law, remaining free was the challenge they faced.
There is nothing new under the sun, the same internal battle they faced is the one we are facing right now. We came out from under oppressive rulership with the winning of the American Revolution in 1776, but the question remains some 244 years later, will we remain free or go back under the oppressive rule again?
This is not about race, this is not about political affiliation, this is about bondage or liberty. Those were the Jews two choices, those were Adam and Eve’s two choices, and these are our two choices. Do you want to remain free or are you going to live in bondage to what others you cannot see want for thee?
This is a decision that must be made inside of you and inside of me. I cannot chose this for you and you cannot chose this for me. Paul said, “Have I become your enemy by telling you the truth? They eagerly seek you, not commendably, but they wish to shut you out so that you will seek them.” (Galatians 4:16-17) Paul went on to say in verse 20, “I am perplexed about you.” Paul could not understand why this was such a battle for them. They were free, why would they want to go back into bondage again?
We have the same choice to make that the Jews did in Paul’s day, are we going to be sons and daughters of the free woman or sons and daughters of the bond woman? One was of the flesh, the other was of the promise. Our current battle is an ancient battle, are you going to go with Hagar and her son or Sarah and her son? One woman is in bondage with her children and one is in freedom with hers. (Galatians 4:21-31)
Only you can decide which family line you will be apart of. As for me and my house, we have chosen to remain in freedom with Christ and of the house of freedom with the free woman. I declare with Paul in Galatians 5:1 “It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.” I am singing with William McDowell “I won’t go back!”
