The Oil Is….

I was awakened this morning at 4:16am with the story of the 10 Virgins in Matthew 25 arising out of my spirit and the Lord said, “The oil is not anointing, it is understanding.” I immediately jumped out of bed and came to my desk to read the parable. Here it is…

“Then the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were prudent. For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, but the prudent took oil in flasks along with their lamps. Now while the bridegroom was delaying, they all got drowsy and began to sleep. But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. The foolish said to the prudent, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the prudent answered, ‘No, there will not be enough for us and you too; go instead to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.’ And while they were going away to make the purchase, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut. Later the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open up for us.’ But he answered, ‘Truly I say to you, I do not know you.’ Be on the alert then, for you do not know the day nor the hour.”

Lamps give light – Psalm 119:130 says, “The unfolding of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.” There it is the oil which produces the light is understanding. Once you understand what is going on you no longer stumble in the dark.

Five were foolish – dull, stupid, headless, void of understanding

Five were wise – to have understanding, to think, adapt view, observe

Understanding cannot be shared with another, we must each obtain our own understanding or we will cease to stand. The reason some continue to stand is because they understand what is going on. They have chosen to be teachable, they listen to others that know things they don’t, they gained understanding while others were doing other things.

Proverbs 4:4-8 says, “Let your heart hold fast my words; Keep my commandments and live; Acquire wisdom! Acquire understanding! Do not forget nor turn away from the words of my mouth. Do not forsake her, and she will guard you; Love her, and she will watch over you. The beginning of wisdom is: Acquire wisdom And with all your acquiring, get understanding. Prize her, and she will exalt you; She will honor you if you embrace her.”

We are witnessing the separation of the wise and the foolish virgins; we are hearing those who have understanding and those who don’t. This is why there are multiple messages being spoken by the church in this hour about the events of our day. Open wide your ears, and get understanding, the Lord says it’s your oil!
