Come Up Not Come Down

Psalm 61:2-4 “Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a refuge for me, A tower of strength against the enemy. Let me dwell in Your tent forever; Let me take refuge in the shelter of Your wings. Selah.”

The Lord is calling us into a higher altitude. This new altitude will adjust our breathing, will change the rhythm of our heart, will cause us to make adjustments according to the new altitude. We as his people have wanted him to come down but we don’t wanna go up. He wants us to increase our elevation level. He wants the sea level in our lives raised. The call for him to come down is being replaced with a call for us to come up.

He’s not going to swoop down, he wants us to rise up. In our ascending we will find new scenery, new thoughts, new perspectives, and he will adjust the cabin pressure so we can handle the new altitude. However we must send, arise, come up higher. He is leading us to the rock that is higher than us. His tent, his dwelling, is up there not down here. The call is to arise and shine, the call is to come up here.

As we come up higher, as well ascend, we will find that the low level issues are now under our feet. We will find a view that we’ve only dreamt about but have never seen. We will find that the Lord has adjusted everything inside of us to the new elevation that he is inviting us into. It is time to come up higher!
