I was having lunch with a new friend a couple of weeks ago and she asked me why I think God is bringing so many people together here in Nashville. The question was pregnant with presence and many possible answers. Without thinking, my spirit answered her and said, I think it is because the Nashville area is God’s upper room. I had never said anything like that before, and I am not one to say things about one city over another, so my answer surprised me, but it was not of me even though it came from me.
Last week, Tuesday, in the middle of the night, I heard clearly, “Strike the match!” I sent the word to a few friends, for I was not clear what God was saying, so sat on that word as well. Now today, while praying Psalm 29, which is the Psalm God told me is for Hebrew Year 5782, this year, I read in verse 7 “The voice of the Lord divides the flames of fire.” Immediately, the Holy Spirit sends me to Acts 2 which says, “And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.” Here we are back to the upper room which is where we started.
My friends, the flames of fire that appeared may have been something they saw, but it was definetly something they heard. The voice of God was seen in that room on Pentecost and we are about to see the voice of God again. God is striking the match and setting cities on fire with His word. Remember Jeremiah said, “Your word is like a fire shut up in my bones.” With the striking of the match the voice of the Lord is going to be made visible in a Pentecost kind of way. It is going to be suddenly, but His voice that is fire is not coming to destroy, but to purify, identify and magnify His name and His word. We are about to see the flaming sword of God’s word like we have never seen it before because the spirit of wisdom and revelation is going to crush the head of religion in the nations.
