Battle Has Been Won

The Holy Spirit spoke to me the other day saying, “The battle is over, the war is won; the Lord has left the battlefield; it is time to rejoice; come on let’s celebrate.” The words were so strong in my spirit, they felt real on a level I can’t explain. They brought such joy to my heart, it was as thought I could exhale after many years of holding my breath on the battlefield.

I have been pondering these words for days now, then today the Lord had me look up the words, the king has left the battlefield and what it led me to was The Battle of King’s Mountain in South Carolina. I found it timely since today is Veteran’s Day.

The Battle of King’s Mountain was fought between Patriots and Loyalists militias. The Patriots were called Overmountain Men, for they came from what is now Tennessee and traveled 330 miles along a wearisome wilderness road abounding with mountains and valleys. These men were considered a rag-tag group with makeshift ways. They fought with rifles which were slow to load but very accurate, rather than traditional muskets that were quick to load but inaccurate.

This battle is said by Thomas Jefferson to be “The turn of the tide of success.” Herbert Hoover said, “It was a little army and a little battle, but it was of mighty portent.” Theodore Roosevelt said, “This brilliant victory marked the turning point of the American Revolution.”

I know it doesn’t look like it, but the Holy Spirit said, “The battle is over, the war is won; the Lord has left the battlefield; it is time to rejoice; lets celebrate!” On this Veteran’s Day, the Lord is declaring victory, and He is instructing us to rejoice, to celebrate. The Battle of King’s Mountain has been won yet again.

  1. This brought tears to my eyes. I love this, and I love – as always – how He brought it to light.

I truly love You and Your ways Lord. You are King of the mountain and You are my dwelling place – Adonai Maon.

Praise the Lord for His mercy endures forever.
