Big Tree Falling

There are certain events that shake nations. Even though 9/11 happened in New York City, NY in the United States, that event shook the whole world. Two buildings fell, like two trees falling and when they hit the ground the whole world shook. The shaking changed the landscape of nations.

When the Berlin Wall was torn down, though the event happened in Berlin, Germany, the whole world felt the impact of that event, we now call history. When the Holy Spirit was poured out on Pentecost in AD 33 in Jerusalem, the wind, fire and sound of known and unknown tongues happened in one upper room, but reverberated throughout the nations. These events have marked us forever.

Ezekiel 30 speaks of “Big Tree” nations and how they are coming to an end. He says they will no longer be nourished from the great deep; no more cloud piercing trees, nor more earth born trees taking over. (V.14) The prophet then continues and says for God, “I made the whole earth quake when it crashed, and threw it into the underworld to take its place with all else that gets buried.” (V.16)

When the “big tree” named Babylon falls, it will shake the whole earth. The shaking will shift the landscape forever. But the shaking and the shifting is for the restoration of all things, not the destruction of them. Acts 3:21 says, “Jesus must remain in heaven until the times of the restoration of all things, of which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets long ago.”

The tree is being cut down, but has yet to fall. When it falls (Revelation 18 – fallen fallen Babylon is fallen) we will feel a shaking. Fear not, this is not the end of our lives, it is the start of something brand new. We were born to be rebuilders of cities, restorers of families and finances, repairers of breaches. The fall starts the age of restoration. Www.apostolicesourcecenter.org
