Remember who you are…
You are the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13), wherever you see death and barrenness, put yourself in there and pray for life and fruitfulness. Elisha was handed a jar of salt and he threw it in the river and declared, “Thus says the LORD, ‘I have purified these waters; there shall not be from there death or unfruitfulness any longer.’” (2 Kings 2:21) Go to a location that the water is bad and stand there, pray, decree, reverse the curse in that place. You are the salt of the earth and the same will be true for your location as it was for Elisha’s when it says, “So the waters have been purified to this day, according to the word of Elisha which he spoke.” (2 Kings 2:22)
As believers we are really good at talking about out what is wrong, it is time we start doing something about it. People are literally crying on television asking for help. The chief of police here in Kansas City was struggling to speak last night as two officers in our city were shot yesterday, one in critical condition. The chief said holding back sobs “We received a citizen call for our assistance and we came to help, that is what we are trained to do, so we do it everyday. We didn’t instigate this, we didn’t come to pick a fight, we came to help because we were asked to.” He then went on with a plea that said, “the violence in this city must stop”.
Talking about it is not going to change it, as those who have authority in the spirit, we must go deal with the power of the air over our cities. We are the salt of the earth, we have been born to be the ones that release words of life not death. Take your authority, go to a place in your city the Lord will show you, go alone, go with a few friends, but go and decree as Elisha did, “Thus says the LORD, ‘I have purified these waters; there shall not be from there death or unfruitfulness any longer.’” Our cities are depending on us church! You are the salt of the earth.
