Residue of a Celebration

With the residue of liberty and justice being celebrated in my backyard as I went to pray this morning, the Lord reminded me why celebrations are so important. When we celebrate a victory that others one for a nation, a family, a church, a city, a company, we are remembering the sacrifices they made for our freedom. As I walked over the residue of last nights celebration I rejoiced again that we live in a land that won a war for our freedom.

Now today as I prepare to go to church this morning, I have a fresh perspective on the celebration we are about to have as the body of Christ. As we gather to celebrate the victory Jesus Christ won on the cross for our freedom from sin, it is not just another song to sing, it is a reminder of the victory that brought us freedom. I am going to sing with all my heart, dance, lift my hands and say thank you Jesus for you won the victory for me and my family; for my city and my community; my country and the nations of the world.

Today is not just another Sunday church service, this is our weekly celebration of victory. Our nation has a yearly celebration of Independece, we as believers get to have a weekly celebration of Jesus’s victory over sin, hell and the grave. I don’t know what you came to do, but I came to praise the Lord! David said, “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go to the house of the Lord!” (Psalm 122:1) I hope to see you, hear you of sense you in the celebration of our victory that Jesus paid for as we go to the house of the Lord.
