Gain-Loss-Loss-Gain

When the Word of God is your prayer points, the conversation is led by the Word not by anything else. It never ceases to amaze me the things God wants to talk about, for He has much to say and many things He wants us to pray.

Today for me it was Psalm 63 and when I got to verses 9-11 it spoke about those who were destined for the sword because of their evil deeds. As I was praying these verses the Lord spoke to me and He had me pray for the people who have gained the whole world, but they have lost their soul (Mark 8:36).

I do not know the names of people who have done this, but it did make me realize that when someone loses their soul they lose their ability to see people as living beings, created in the image of God. When the soul is lost, it is as though one can do something to another person without any feeling, thought or concern.

I was praying this morning, as the Lord prompted me, for those who have gained the whole world and lost their soul, because I see many losing the whole world they gained, and I prayed in the loss of the world, even if they are destined for the sword because of what they have done, may they hear their spirit whisper His name. May they, like the thief on the cross next to Jesus, may they call on His name before they breath their last.

This may not make sense right now, but it will one day. Justice and righteousness are the foundation of God’s throne (Psalm 89:17), but He does not delight in the death of anyone (Ezekiel 18:23). It’s a paradox we must understand.
