The moment the Lord opened my eyes this morning, He said, “I don’t give people alms who are begging, I give them legs to walk on. Everyone I came in contact with their situation changed.” The Holy Spirit then began to download story after story into my spirit.
The blind men on the side of the road screaming out, son of David have mercy on us, Jesus gave them their sight back.
The women who asked Jesus to come because their brother Lazarus was sick, Jesus raised him from the dead.
The man at the pool of Bethesda who said he had no one to put him in the pool when the angels stirred the water, Jesus told him to be well and he was well.
The man on the mat the four friends lowered down through a roof into the presence of Jesus was told to take up his bed and walk.
The crowds who were with Jesus for three days and had not eaten, Jesus fed them all with bread and fish.
Story after story, Jesus did not give people a word of condolences He gave them new life; He didn’t comfort them in their situation, He changed their reality. Jesus is not handing out alms, sympathy cards or tissues. No Jesus is restoring souls, healing bodies, renewing minds, transforming lives, raising the dead. He is still doing Acts 10:38 “Going around doing good and healing all those oppressed of the devil.”
Church it is time to pick up your mat and walk; It’s time to cast off those grave clothes and live; it’s time to dance on injustice; it’s time to hear the voice of God calling you to live again. He is still the resurrection and the life! Live my friends, live!
