I was praying Psalm 144 this morning and the very first verse says, “Blessed be the LORD, my rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle;”. I read this verse and I began to look at my hands as weapons of war. When I write I am warring with truth; when I clap I am warring with sound; when I raise my hands I am warring with worship; when I lay hands on the sick and they recover I am warring with healing. My friends our hands are weapons of war.
Whatever job you do, whether it’s creating drawings as an architect, or painting, or typing on a keyboard, or pushing buttons on the register, or making coffee in the coffee shop, when you do it with a spirit of excellence your hands are weapons of war. Next time you use your hands to change that diaper or make that meal, remember your hands are weapons of war. Our hands are weapons of war that advance the kingdom of God in every area of life. Let the Lord train your hands for war and your fingers for battle.
