My dad and I were on the phone yesterday discussing healing and he said, “We need the presence of God like it used to be in the old tent revival meetings with Oral Roberts, AA Allen, Marie Woodworth-Etter and Smith Wigglesworth. We need the presence of God for we need the healer to heal us.”
I have been thinking about this for the past 24 hours and the Lord has put it together with Psalm 139 which I was praying yesterday morning. We as people, were created in the very presence of God. Psalm 139 is bold in its decree that we were knit together in our mothers womb, that the hand of God was upon us, forming us, fashioning us. That means His fingerprints are all over us.
We began in God’s presence, we will end our days, when our last breath is taken in His presence. Once we breath our final breath on earth we will immediately be breathing in the presence of God. Our eyes will see the One who created us. We will marvel at how loved we are, how valuable we are, how enjoyed we are. We are not going to meet a God who can’t stand the sight of our face, we are going to see the Revelation 1 Jesus who is raised from the dead.
We start in His presence, we end in His presence, so why are we so afraid, so distant, so confident that we do not need His presence in the in-between time? Where did we learn independence from His presence, until we are in a health or financial situation? We go to church, we do all the right things, but still without His presence. We read a devotional or open our Bible for a minute, but still no desire for His presence?
We need the presence of God. We have experienced human presence, human ingenuity, human inventions, human touch, human words, human love but it is not healing us, it is not satisfying our souls. We need the presence of God. Some have never experienced it, so they do not know what they are missing, others have experienced it and are not sure how to get it back. Exhale, take a deep breath, relax, lean in, linger with Him, His presence is needed, but we must cease prioritizing human over divine. Www.apostolicresourcecenter.org
