Sivan 1 is Rosh Chodesh, the head of the the month. It is the 45th day of the counting of the Omer from Passover to Pentecost. The Torah reading for this day is Number 28:1-15. This is all very significant, so follow me for just a moment. Numbers 28 is about the commanded offering of two lambs without blemish offered by fire as a sweet aroma to the Lord.

In Jewish history this is the day that the nation of Israel arrived at the foot of Mount Sinai AS ONE MAN WITH ONE HEART in preparation for the receiving of the Torah. In this month on the 6th of Sivan is Shavuot or Pentecost and on the 17th of Sivan the flood waters receded from the earth in Genesis 7-8.

Sivan means season or appointed time. It is a month of divine revelation and covenant and commissioning. This day, May 17, 2026 on the 1st of Sivan was not picked randomly. This day of rededication was picked on purpose. It is the day we as a nation will stand and rededicate our nation back to God, we will make a new covenant with God to be His people and He will be our God.

It is fitting we do this on Sunday, the 1st of Sivan, for we are a Judeo/Christian nation and we are about to tell heaven we know who we are and tell the nations we know who our God is.
