God’s Rebuke

If God was to rebuke us what do you think His rebuke would be about? Rebuke means to admonish, to correct, to convict, to convince, to reason, to argue a point. Alright, so if God was to rebuke us, what do you think He would rebuke us about or for?

I can hear a myriad of behaviors people are saying in their heads, but what if He was not going to rebuke us for any behavior, but rather He was going to rebuke us for our mistaken perception? You see, our perception is our reality, but our perception is not God’s reality.

We may see something as truth, but God does not call it truth. We may have a definition of something, but that is not God’s definition of it. When our perception does not align with God’s perception, we are to adjust, correct our perception to match His.

I was reading Isaiah 2:4 and I saw God rebuking many for a wrong perception about other people. At least this is what He rebuked Israel for and I believe He is rebuking us for the same thing.

“He shall judge between the nations, And rebuke many people; They shall beat their swords into plowshares, And their spears into pruning hooks; Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, Neither shall they learn war anymore.”

God is rebuking them for viewing people as enemies to destroy, rather than as a harvest to gather in. The Lord always had a vision for all nations to know Him. That is why in Genesis 12 He had Abram look up and called Him the Father of All Nations.

What if God is calling who we see as an enemy a harvest? What if He is rebuking us for not seeing people as a harvest field to reap, but rather as an enemy to remove? We can see this in our lives on a personal and national level. It happens in churches and cities. It happens between races and religions.

Friends, we are called to see people as a harvest to reap, not an enemy to destroy. Henceforth the call to beat swords into plowshares and spears into pruning hooks. Jesus said, the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Can you hear the rebuke of the Lord to see people as a harvest not someone to destroy? Www.apostolicresourcecenter.org
