One of the hardest things I have had to do in my life is obey God when people I highly value do not understand what I am doing or why I am doing it. If you need the approval of people, especially valuable people to you, it will be hard to obey God when what God is saying is different than what they are saying.
Those valuable people love you deeply, they are trying to protect you, they are not malicious they are loving you, but their love cannot stop you from obeying God even when they do not understand what you are doing. It is not your responsibility to convince them of what God has spoken to you, it is your responsibility to follow what God has told you, even when valuable people do not understand.
Proverbs 3 says, “Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t lose your grip on love and loyalty…earn a reputation for living well in God’s eyes and the eyes of the people.”
Seek counsel, get wisdom from others, but at the end of the day, you must obey what God says. Now your obedience may mean you stand alone for a while, but it must mean if God said to do it, you do not try to get people to meet your need God said He would meet.
If God said it, He will do it. He is not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19). But you must be patient as the promise plays out. When God speaks a promise it does not have instant manifestation. Sometimes it takes decades, but if you wait for it, it truly shall come to pass if God said it. Then the valuable voices will see what God said to you has come to pass.
Evidence of God’s voice manifests as an undeniable reality that obeying God is always an investment that yields a return. He is faithful; He is going to do what He said He would do, if He said it. He is trustworthy and He wants to build faith in you and those who are watching you. Obedience is the master key to success in walking with God. Www.apostolicresourcecenter.org
