Pursue That Which Lasts

King Solomon had wealth, he had gold and silver, he had more than anyone before him up to that time and the Bible says no one would exceed him in wealth ever. The very thing people pursue, kill for, take people to court over, lie for, cheat for, and lose their respect for, King Solomon had. Therefore, hearing his words, understanding his words and absorbing his words will benefit us immeasurably. But we will have to resist and repent of our willingness to sacrifice the things money can’t buy, to obtain money.

People have destroyed relationships over money, destroyed churches over money, destroyed marriages over money. The same snake called mammon is not doing anything new, he is still stealing, killing and destroying people all for money. But King Solomon steps into our life on this 22nd day of February 2021 and says in Proverbs 22:1-2 “A good name is to be more desired than great wealth, Favor is better than silver and gold. The rich and the poor have a common bond, The LORD is the maker of them all.”

May I encourage you today, the Lord will never give you too much or too little, He knows the measure that is right for you at any given time. Therefore, choose to ask for favor and a good name, for those things last. Wealth has wings it flies into your life and flies out, but a good name and God’s favor stays with you on earth and into heaven forever. May we desire what lasts forever not what sprouts wings and flies away. For we will never lack anything physically or financially, but we may be lacking favor and a good name and this loss is more costly than most recognize.
