Love Comes From Listening

Knowledge comes from spending time listening to other people. Love comes from spending time listening to God. That is why someone can spend four years in Bible School or Seminary and come out with knowledge but not love. Love comes from spending time listening to and obeying God. If we lack love, it’s because we are accumulating knowledge by listening to people, not spending time listening to God.

1 Corinthians 8:1-3 “Now concerning things sacrificed to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge makes arrogant, but love edifies. If anyone supposes that he knows anything, he has not yet known as he ought to know; but if anyone loves God, he is known by Him.”

Exuding Authority

We are not given authority because of our gender, our title, or how much information we have. We are only given authority because we are people that live under the authority of God. The more submitted to God we are the more authority that we carry. When we operate outside of God‘s authority in our life we do not carry the authority of God into any situation. Whether in the city, the country, the family or the company. The key to peace, order, joy, strength, wisdom, and every other desirable attitude and attribute all comes from being a person who lives under the authority of God. It is in this place where attitudes come into subjection to God; where ideas come into subjection to God; where moods come into subjection to God.

We cannot be people that carry authority until we are people that truly live under God‘s authority. We may think we have authority but we don’t because that which has been placed under our care is out of order. We have not submitted completely to God‘s authority. Once we are submitted to God‘s authority completely people will sense that we are those that carry authority because we are those under authority. Authority comes from being submitted to God, when we are submitted to God we exude authority and people, animals, spirits sense it and submit to it. People with authority given to them by God because they are submitted to God are not arrogant their humble. Arrogant people want authority apart from being submitted to God and so they call their title or gender authority because they know they don’t really have authority.

Authority makes people feel safe; authority creates order; authority establishes peace. The way to become a person of authority is to be a person under God’s authority. We need authority, this is why we need a great awakening because we need to submit to God again.we need a revelation that He alone is God and this will bring us in our hearts to our knees in surrender to God. From here everything will change. Nothing else will help us, save us, redeem us, we need a people submitted to God so we can be carriers of authority in the earth.

Matthew 8:5-10 “Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, imploring Him, and saying, “Lord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home, fearfully tormented.” Jesus *said to him, “I will come and heal him.” But the centurion said, “Lord, I am not worthy for You to come under my roof, but just say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes, and to my slave, ‘Do this!’ and he does it.” Now when Jesus heard this, He marveled and said to those who were following, “Truly I say to you, I have not found such great faith with anyone in Israel.”

This Is Our God

Everyone is seeking to be in the know. They want to know what is the latest news report, they want to know where the latest revival is breaking out, they want to know what other people are doing. The need to be in the know is palatable in every area of life. People love to be in the know. The challenge with being in the know about people or the news, is that every moment of the day there has to be new things to know. It is an unquenchable pursuit. But if that hunger to be in the know about others or about the news was switched over to being in the know about God, oh the satisfaction that would fill your soul, body, mind and heart.

I was praying this morning and when I opened to Psalm 99 the first line burst in my spirit like a dam breaking and water rushing onto a desert. Immediately everything inside of me burst forth with life. It was a surge of life, of energy of confidence, of faith, of power, of God. One verse in one Psalm saturated my need to know when it said, “The Eternal is the king ruling over all; let all people shake in fear. He sits on His throne, settled between winged guardians; let the planet tremble.” When these words crossed my eyes, I spoke them out of my mouth and immediately order was set in my heart for the day. Now no matter what I may hear, I have a plumbline truth already established.

“The Eternal is the king ruling over all; let all people shake in fear. He sits on His throne, settled between winged guardians; let the planet tremble.” With so many people wanting to be in charge, wanting to decide how things happens for the nations, wanting to be seen and heard; this truth puts it all in perspective. This truth that the Eternal is the king ruling over all is where peace lands, trust rests, and confidence comes from. Men and women will say and do all kinds of things, but our God is seated on a throne, settled between winged guardians. He’s not moving, He’s not changing; He’s not being voted in or out. This is the truth that does not move, does not change, this is our God!

Stand!

Taking a step is different than taking a stand. If a step does not turn into a stand you will change your step based on situations, circumstances or feelings. When you take a stand you decide this is the way things are going to be and nothing changes that. Believers get tossed to and fro because they step but don’t stand so what they tolerate will dominate. Take a stand, plant your feet and don’t move. Not only will others take courage in your stand, they will also find their footing and not be moved. When we take a stand we create an environment for others to thrive in for they know where we stand. Is it any wonder The apostle Paul told us to stand and keep on standing.

Ephesians 6:13 “Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm…!”

You Are

You my friend are powerful!
You my friend are loved extravagantly!
You my friend are perfectly designed!
You my friend are the representative of the kingdom of God on earth.

When you hear this, is it any wonder the enemy wants you to believe or think you are powerless; unloved; imperfect; without authority? You are the enemies worst enemy just because you are created in the image of God. Just be you and watch God put the enemy to shame because He made you and is proud of you!

Airwaves Narrative

The airwaves over this nation are not determined by the main stream media, they are determined by those who carry the message they are hearing. The message that resonates with us is the message we carry on and put into the airways. If we want to cleanse the airwaves over our nation, so healing flows into our bodies, faith rises in our hearts, deliverance happens with a word, salvation manifests everywhere, we must become carriers of good news. Our words seed the atmosphere and affect the airwaves. We can’t just praise on Sunday morning when the worship team starts to sing, we can’t just worship when the right song comes on the radio and think this is going to shift the atmospheres over our cities, over our nation. No, we must chose to carry one message, repeat one report, dispense one truth, that Jesus Christ is King of kings and Lord of lords.

All this sharing of what the enemy is doing in our nation, all this reiterating of what the news is saying, all it is doing is cluttering the airwaves in your own heart, in your own city, in your own nation. I realize we live in the world, I understand about being informed, but the challenge is most people are more informed about the news than they are the word of God. We freely share the latest news report about this variant or that mandate, but we are not sharing, we are not promoting what God is doing. We are not dispensing the truth we read in the word that day, or the latest revelation we received. Church, we are not called to carry the news of the nations as our primary talking points. We are called to seed each other with faith and faith comes by hearing the word of God. The word washes the atmosphere, the word cleanses the country, the word is what sets us free. Not more information about politics, three letter agencies, or evil doers.

We are the church, we have been given governmental authority in the land in which we live, we are the voice that sets the course for where we are going. Start speaking, start sharing, start prophesying what is going to happen in your city, in your family, in your country. The days of being passive and waiting to see what is going to happen are over. Speak about what God is doing. Praise the Lord in all your conversations. Lift up your voice and declare the faithfulness of God. Everyone can see and feel the darkness, but people are looking for the light, shine my friends, shine, shout, sing, in the streets not just on Sunday morning. We have been given the authority to change the atmosphere with our mouth.

Psalm 98:4-6 “Raise your voices; make a beautiful noise to the Eternal, all the earth. Let your joy explode into song and praise; Make music to the Eternal with the harp; sing a beautiful melody with the harp and chorus. With trumpets and horns, fill the air with joyful sounds to the King, the Eternal.”

Resistance Training

Resistance training always makes you stronger. It hurts to do resistance training, but the results are obvious. We are in a season of serious resistance training and many people are feeling the pull of their spritiual muscles during this training season. It hurts, people are struggling, it is obvious. Pain has a way of screaming at us, so we know it hurts and pain has a way of being all consuming so we do not lose sight of the fact that it hurts. But if you can look past the pain of this season of resistance training, you will notice you are getting stronger. The pain is going to subside, the challenges are going to loose you and let you go, but what you gained in strength is going to remain.

The kingdom of God in us is teaching us that we have more authority than we exercise, so the Holy Spirit is being our personal trainer and teaching us how to excercise the authority we have been given. This short season of resistance training is making us inside strong so we can carry that new strength into the work we will do when our training is over. Once you gain the muscle of spiritual discipline, that comes through resistance training, you will remain strong in that area. Keep seeking the Lord. Keep reading the word. Keep believing God. What we are in is a short season of resistance training, not a final destination.

1 Timothy 4:8 “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”

It’s Raining

Faith speaks what it sees in the spirit, that is why it is called faith, because you see it in the spirit before it manifests in the natural. I have been lingering in the Old Testament prophets this week, as the Holy Spirit has led me to do so. I read Amos, then Isaiah, Obadiah and now today Joel. What has caused me to pause and marvel is that the Lord has woven a theme through the words of these men, that I did not recognize until this week, which tells me this is a word God wants us to know.

When we think OT prophets, we lean towards harsh judgments, but actually these men and women knew the heart of God that was bent toward restoration, compassion and faithfulness to His covenant people. Their goal was always to turn Israel back to God, by stating the truth of their situation and then releasing hope for help from heaven.

This week, the theme the Lord showed me is one of abundance that is about to be released upon us as His people. I know it doesn’t look like abundance is coming, when store shelves are missing items, gas prices are soaring, housing markets are bursting at the seems and more and more mandates seems to be being instated. But it doesn’t take faith to see those things happening, those are obvious. It takes faith to see what the Lord is showing me and telling to me to share with you.

God is about to be super generous to us. I mean undeservedly generous, beyond imagination generous. Amos 9:13-15 says, “The day is coming when the person stomping grapes will overtake the person planting the vineyard. And in that fertile day, new wine will drip from the mountains and the hills will flow with it.” Joel 2:21-27 says, “The drought is over; He has sent the early autumn rain as a sign of His faithfulness. He has poured down heavy rain, autumn and spring rain as before. The threshing floors will be covered in grain; the vats will spillover with new wine and fresh oil.” Then Deuteronomy 11:7-21 says, “I’ll send rain on your land when its needed, in the autumn and the spring. You’ll have an abundant harvest of grain, wine and olive oil.”

I didn’t do a word study, I didn’t go looking for these puzzle pieces, as I was randomly reading they came together to paint a picture of abundance that is about to be poured out upon us. I know it doesn’t look like it, but faith says it going to happen and faith is always the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things yet seen (Hebrews 11:1). My faith sees abundance being released upon us and so I expect to receive what I see. The drought is over, it’s raining my friends!

Wrestling With Soveriegnty

Transition is a challenging place, because it is continually fluid, it feels unstable, it does not forward us the privilege of being comfortable. When one person is in transition, it is more manageable because we can watch them go through it, but when nations are in transition that makes everything unstable. The atmosphere is charged with instability right now, and everyone is experiencing it, for we are in an international transition. The way we deal with this transition is dependent upon our level of faith in God as sovereign.

Many people are wrestling right now with the sovereignty of God. They can’t control the timing of anything that is going on, but they can see and hear many things happening. Welcome to wrestling with sovereignty. We have all heard God is sovereign, meaning God gets to do whatever God wants, but the truth is, most of us haven’t come this close to His sovereignty where literally we have no control over an outcome and especially the timing of it. We actually wrestle with sovereignty often, but instead of surrendering to it, we make our own way apart from it. Not this time though, God is not going to let us, as the nations, go this time. He is going to allow us to wrestle with His sovereignty until we surrender to Him and His plan for the nations.

Surrender is scary for those who don’t really know who God is. The idea of someone, God, being in control of everything, especially timing, is not something most people are comfortable with. We like to do things in our timing, especially since we are adults, and don’t like to be told what to do. But God is our Father, and we will always be His children, no matter our age, and He is not going to let us win this wrestling match of timing. He has a set time for what He is doing in the earth and no man, no woman, not nothing is going to change His sovereign timing on the unfolding of events.

The best thing we can do is shake off the dust of the last era, stand confident in the current transition and throw your hands in the air as a sign of surrender, knowing full well, none of us are going to be able to do anything to change God’s timing on this major change we are in. When it opens for us to see, we will rejoice greatly for our God is better to us than any of us realize, so stop wrestling with sovereignty and just surrender.

Isaiah 52:10 “The Eternal has flexed His muscles, bared His holy arm for the world to see His power; Every nation, every person, every place on earth will witness the victory of our God.”

Waterfalls of Justice

Have you sown more than you have reaped?

Have you waited and still have not seen what you are waiting for?

Have you been prophesied over but still no movement?

Are there prayers you’ve prayed that are yet to be answered?

Are you standing in faith about something?

Have you done all God has told you to do?

Have you been obedient continually with out seeing rewards?

The Lord has an announcement for those of us who fit this description in one or more than one of these ways. The Lord says, “JUSTICE IS COMING FOR THOSE WHO DO RIGHT!” My friends, justice is coming for you. It is an injustice in the eyes of God for you to sow and not reap; to wait and not see what you are waiting for; To obey and not be rewarded. It is an injustice in the sight of God and the Lord says, “JUSTICE IS COMING FOR YOU!”

Psalm 94:15 “Justice is coming for those who do what is right and all the good-hearted will pursue it.”

We are living in a time of God’s justice manifesting in the earth. We are going to see many kinds of justice roll down like the waters (Amos 5:24). But one justice we rarely speak about is the justice that is coming for those who do right. Today, God is wanting us to know, He see’s the good you have done, He sees the seeds you have sown, He hears the prayers you are praying, He knows they ways you have obeyed and the Lord is going to release justice to you who do what is right.

Waterfalls of justice are hitting us like water to a weary soul and it is going to refresh every aspect of our lives and we will know that God is not a man that He should lie, He is God and He never forgets His children. Justice is rushing towards us right now!
