The enemy is a coward, I have known this from doing counseling with people. He is shameless in his attack on people when they are children or in a weakened state of life. I have seen this over and over again when people come and share things with me. But what I didn’t know, until today is that this is exactly what the Bible says about the enemy. Follow me for just a minute, for we are about to put the enemy in correct perspective.
Psalm 10 says, “In pride the wicked hotly pursue the afflicted; Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised. For the wicked boasts of his heart’s desire, And the greedy man curses and spurns the LORD. The wicked, in the haughtiness of his countenance, does not seek Him. All his thoughts are, “There is no God.” The enemy is so small he has to puff himself up in pride in order to feel big. He is a puffer spirit. Then he boasts, curses, spurns and even says, there is no God. When you are small you have to make yourself think there is no God, for the reality of God goes counter to your narrative of how big, in pride, you have puffed yourself up to be. Oh how small is the enemy. Like a balloon that is popped with a pin.
The psalm goes on to say, “He sits in the lurking places of the villages; In the hiding places he kills the innocent; His eyes stealthily watch for the unfortunate. He lurks in a hiding place as a lion in his lair; He lurks to catch the afflicted; He catches the afflicted when he draws him into his net.” The enemy is so weak, he has to kill the innocent, watch the unfortunate and catch the afflicted. Why, because he is a coward and has no strength to defeat anyone, unless they are struggling. Do you realize the only realize the enemy attacks you is because you are afflicted, unfortunate or innocent?
Next time the enemy presents himself to you as powerful, tough, or inflated in any way, grab your pin in the spirit and pop the bubble of that puffer spirt, so you can see how small he really is. He can’t defeat you, unless you give him your authority out of fear. He is actually nothing to worry about, he’s just a puffer spirit trying to sound tough, look big and act like he has power. He is no match for you and he knows it, the challenge is you don’t. Don’t forget who you are!
