One look at the homeland and you realize our walls have been broken down and our gates have been burned. An honest assessment of our situation is needed in order to know how to proceed. We are in the very month, Chislev, the month that Nehemiah was informed about the state of Jerusalem as noted in Nehemiah 1 “Now it happened in the month Chislev… They said to me, “The remnant there in the province who survived the captivity are in great distress and reproach, and the wall of Jerusalem is broken down and its gates are burned with fire.” This is where we are in the homeland. To try and advance in this condition is foolish, so we must hear clearly the thoughts of God on our situation. Nehemiah will be the pattern for this next season.

Nehemiah was a cupbearer to the king, men and women have been communining with God in the secret place, pouring out their hearts to Him for their nation. Now the report has been released and it is clear we have broken down walls and burned gates. The enemy has truly done a number on us, but the Nehemiah’s have been the cupbearer to the king and a plan is being released even now. We cannot talk about sending out people to other nations, calling new people into our nation, when we are in this state. We must acknowledge our situation for what it is and follow the lead of the Nehemiah’s who have been communing with the king. The time for personal prophecy are over, the days of personal prosperity are done, we have a corporate situation on our hands as a church and God is sending Nehemiah’s to lead us in this hour.

The situation is obvious, the call is clear, Nehemiah 2:17-18 says it best, “Then I said to them, “You see the bad situation we are in, that Jerusalem is desolate and its gates burned by fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem so that we will no longer be a reproach.” I told them how the hand of my God had been favorable to me and also about the king’s words which he had spoken to me. Then they said, “Let us arise and build.” Friends, starting this spring, we are going to see an arise and build movement manifest on the earth. Just as in the days of Nehemiah, everyone is going to have a part to play, a gate to rebuild a section of the wall to repair. Prepare yourselves for action, because come this spring, we are going to arise and build. The days of reproach are over, but we must occupy the homeland first.
