I have friends who are farmers in Kansas and I was asked by them, yesterday, to pray for rain, as they have not had any since August. As I was praying for them, the Lord began to speak to me and said, “The rain precedes the grain. I am in charge of the rain. Ask for the rain that precedes the grain.” Immediately the Holy Spirit prompted me to open my bible to Zechariah 10:1 that says, “ASK OF the Lord rain in the time of the latter or spring rain. It is the Lord Who makes lightnings which usher in the rain and give men showers, and grass to everyone in the field.”
We are living in the shadow of the Latter Rain movement, and it is “Spring” in the season. Remember, biblically Passover was a “Spring” feast, so we are in the shadow of the latter rain movement and we are in the season of spring. My friends, we need to ask for rain! Rain will break the drought and the delay; rain will refresh and revive; rain will bring the grain.
The presence of God wafted into the room in which I am sitting as I began to pray for rain, an abundance of rain. We need the reign of God’s spirit upon the nations; we need the reign of God over the governments of the world; we need the reign of God in our families, bodies and communities; we need reign (rain). The Lord is in charge of the rain, He is the Lord of the heavens, so we seek the Lord of the heavens and ask for rain, for we are living in the shadow of the latter rain movement and we are in the season called spring. So, we are on time and in time to pray for rain. We need the rain and what will follow is the grain. Pray for rain!
